Unfortunately, there are some fundies who believe that if a girl or woman doesn't die trying to fight off a rapist, she's at fault because she wasn't killed while trying to defend her virginity. Sometimes, they pass around a licked cupcake or chewed gum in young women's(teen) classes to show that if you lose your virginity even through rape, you're like the licked cupcake or gum. I've heard about that, and that's always seemed so wrong to me. There's nothing WRONG with not being a virgin. There's nothing inherently GROSS about not being a virgin. ANd yet they try their damnedest to make girls feel used and gross if they're not--rape or no. Bastards. |

I seriously don't see how that's going to win. You've got the two dumbest elements of the GOP. Anyone with an IQ over 80, and those who don't directly benefit by bribing those two, will vote Obama in by the largest margin in recent history if this ticket ever comes into fruition. Bush got elected to two terms. Never underestimate the stupidity of the American voter. |

Actually, Bush got elected to one term. His first term was granted by the Supreme Court when they stopped the Florida recounts and declared him the winner.
I will admit that he legitimately won his second term, but I'd have been much happier if the Court hadn't interfered in the election process. It's possible he would have won Florida legitimately, and if he had he would have had a solid claim rather than starting his first term with the stench of cronyism and backroom deals lingering over him.

I get fundies not wanting women to have abortions if she got pregnant through consensual sex. I don't agree, but I can understand it.
But not allowing rape victims to have abortions? Especially CHILD rape victims? Only one answer to that. "Go sit in the corner, dumbass."

Palin is so effing brilliant. I love how she describes it as "nine months of a natural process that you can endure." Yeah, that's right, it's only nine months of pregnancy and you're good to go! You don't have any major responsibilities after the birth, and meanwhile your poor attacker is getting his little bum raped in prison. Awww!

Well the Republicans have to teach women to hate themselves and think that without their virginity they are worthless. I mean, if women actually realized that they weren't tied to their status as sexual objects imagine what that would mean! They would want rights, privileges, and many of the very tenants of extreme Christianity would go right out the window. That would be horrible, because you see the whole point is, these women would still have a little factory for making more of themselves. This in turn might lead to these women making little version of themselves that go on to further the rights women secure for themselves, and we just can't have that can we?
Wow, it's scary that if I had used just a bit more vague wording the above could very well pass for an actual non-sarcastic fundie post. Damn.
