I thought the American right was on good terms with Israel, but now, apprently, it's run by Nazis. Similarly, the UK seems to have gone from one of America's staunchest allies to an Orwellian dystopia. Guess you can choose your enemies... Then there's only one solution...

I hate saying it because I feel like a hypocrite, but the healthcare debate and how it perfectly boils down all the differences between how American liberals and conservatives approach issues makes me think that it is time for another revolution.
The difference is that, unlike the Jesusland asshats who typically spout off such things, I'd want the government that replaced this one to be more open, more just, and above all more intelligent. I don't know enough about civics and the differences between different forms of government to draw up a constitution or anything, but seeing entitled assholes and their cronies bilk people into eating shit and believing it's caviar makes me boil to no end.

The problem is the politicians have taken over, and believe that they are entitled to their jobs.
There are entirely too many perks to being a politician, so it creates a disconnect between the person holding the position, and the ordinary people.

Check out RR. The nitwits there claim she's an Obama plant! Of course they claim she's a plant. Because this woman is saying what most of them wouldn't have the balls to say in person, let alone in front of cameras. And there's no doubt that some of them think that way. It's wonderful projection, isn't it? They think everyone's as chickenshit as they are, so whenever someone steps out from behind the far right's curtain of pseudoliberalism and speaks their mind they must be a provocateur.

Her last part of the discussion earlier tonight was "Well your job provides you with healthcare now, so you have no reason to complain" I have insurance with my job, but it's really shitty. Just because someone has a job, doesn't mean that they have decent insurance.

I'm sure your ex-military boss is also enjoying medical, dental, and optical benefits as a result of having served in the military. It's sad to say, but there are people out there who enjoy being able to have something, and pretty much shove it in the faces of those who don't. I know I feel bad when I hear of somebody who is unable to get quality care for an injury or illness. I can't believe I considered myself a conservative once. That was until I saw the way conservatives pick fights and antagonize others to the point where the other guys are pissed off enough to fight. Then Mr. conservative runs and hides behind a massive military with lots of kewl planet-destroying toys at his disposal. Hmmm, sounds a lot like Bush Jr. Yeah, figured I should have thrown in her military experience for that reason. I'm former military...I hated those types. They were either soldiers under me or officers way above me I'm a freedom loving, socialist patriot who fought in a pointless war for his country's most idiotic leader in the history of the office. EVERYONE deserves health care. No excuses.

I've honestly had open debates with a coworker (ok, by supervisor) on breaks about the social healthcare thing. She flaunts her ex military status and the whole socialism=evil thing. Her last part of the discussion earlier tonight was "Well your job provides you with healthcare now, so you have no reason to complain" I have plenty reason to complain, i know what it's like for others with no healthcare. If anything i'd push harder for it now because it's not fair I should get it work related or no while others get shafted. So she was willing to kill and/or die for the good her fellow citizens, but giving them a couple of bucks via her taxes is too much to ask?

Given her attitude i think it was more "learning experience/whoop some brown people" You can't claim to not know what is potentially involved these days, but it always pissed me off to see the whole military thing advertised as "a chance to learn a trade, and a really cool job."

You and Peanutfan will be receiving the Revolution Memo from the anarchists on the forum shortly ... But seriously, this is 100% the problem. They feel entitled and they are disconnected to the average people they represent. People need to start making more noise and scare the shit out of them.
