I have absolutely no idea why "here" is showing up as two words in the above post.

Probably just a link rendering anomaly, it happens every once in a while.

Apparently bad ones, the text should've been rendered as such:
We be eatin bananas all up in this bitch!
Of course, I lived in the hood, so I've had direct experience with the subculture.

That's what I was going to say at first, but I hardly ever hear "piece" anymore. I guess there's a reason for that. ... And yeah, they're pretty bad.

I see no one has yet posted the non-retraction by Banana Man about not knowing that the sweet banana is a sterile hybrid from two bred-for-thousands-of-years plantain breeds:
Yes, we totally MISSED THE POINT of you comparing a coke can to a banana saying man made one and god made the other... when man made both.

Whoever this narrator is, he's a damn 'tard. "Atheists did this, atheists did that," I notice he missed the fact that people have ALSO debunked the whole "complex things must have been designed" thing. We didn't miss the point. He was wrong, & no amount of backpedaling is going to change that.
Oh, & then the Expelled thing. First of all, I notice that he neglected to mention how Dawkins was interviewed under false pretenses. Second of all, he's doing that old Fundie parlor trick where you turn "this may theoretically be possible but there is no evidence to it" into "he said aliens designed us lol!" Moreover, if you listen to Dawkins, there is no contradiction there. He basically said that while some forms of life could have been designed (the domestic banana, for instance), "God did it!" is not science. If everything needs to have a cause, so does God, in other words.
"What does Dawkins fear?" Probably wasting his time on an idiot like Ray. "Alien Man" is a cute nickname & all, but it's a completely failed analogy. Ray was talking completely out of his ass. The nickname "Alien Man" is just a testament to all of the work Fundies go through to make him look bad. Really, that whole thing just reminds me of VenomFangX bawwwwing whenever Thunderf00t neglected to "debate" him.
As for Ray's non-retraction: "I was not aware that the common banana had been so modified through hyberdization." No. You weren't. Because you did not fact-check. That's why everyone calls you ignorant: Because you're willfully--& this part is key now--ignorant. You presuppose God exists, then you tailor everything into proof of that. You shifted the goal posts from "God did it" to "God made us able to do it." That's a complete change in your original premise. Ugh. Idiot.
Also, I'm afraid to find out what "www.pulltheplugonatheism.com" is like.

Yeah, exactly. What we "missed" was that his argument could as well have been "Man can make a coke can, so god exists!"
Several people I showed that video to thought it was a Poe. Oh Poe's law, how true you are, how true.

According to TV Tropes, that's actually the inverse of Poe's Law. Can't for the life of me remember what that was called, though.
Speaking of TV Tropes, Fridge Brilliance: Fundies go through so much effort to refute Dawkins because they think he's like the Emperor of Atheism, or something. Why is that? I never even heard of the guy until I saw all of the Fundies bitching about him.

I just checked TV tropes and it doesn't mention anything about an inverse, and it states that Poe works in both directions. Same. At first I thought it was a weird spelling of Darwin.

Curses! Foiled again!
TV Tropes kind of confuses me. There are a lot of tropes that seem basically the same, except for one minor difference. Add to that the fact that anyone can edit it, & not everyone knows all of this shit, & it gets a little disorientating, at times.

Same. At first I thought it was a weird spelling of Darwin.[/quote] I mis-read it as Darwin in Lithp's post, so apparently that's an easy mistake to make.
