Not to mention Atlantis and all the mystical b/s that goes along with that. Marc *activates a Spell Card* The Japanese name of the card is "伝説の都 アトランティス" or "Legendary City Atlantis". >.> Sorry. Nerding out. That is all. ... Er. Sorry, force of habit.

Sounds like he blatantly ripped off both Lovecraft and Bioshock. I'm waiting for, "...and when the planets align, the cities of Satan shall rise from the sea and bring unprecedented terror among the God-loving of the Earth..."

Why are oceans full of ebil but rivers full of "good"? Seems like most references to rivers in Christian mythos are good, or just neutral..."Go Down In The River To Pray" still isn't as catchy as "Under The Sea", though.
Also...

I actually like "Go Down to the River to Pray." I first heard it in Oh Brother, Where Art Thou?. My wife finally made me stop listening to the soundtrack because she found it too depressing. To answer your question, I suspect it has something to do with the ocean being more vast (and thus more dangerous) than rivers. Rivers, while they might be boundaries, or have dangerous floods, can be easily crossed. The ocean is vast, and people become lost in it. I'm sure there's an anthropological reason behind it somewhere. Marc

I wanted to be one of the cool kids. Why? Being cool is not as cool as you might think it is. Trust me. I've never been cool... Marc

How can you think it's not cool to be cool when you've never been cool?

How can you think it's not cool to be cool when you've never been cool? Because, well, if one has to be cool to be cool, then how can it be a good thing? It sounds awfully exclusionary to me. If I have to be cool in order to be cool, I'd rather be uncool and suffer the consequences. Which are, if I recall from my elementary and high school experiences, being beat up on a regular basis, being laughed at, being denied a date for any dance, and generally being picked on. On the other hand, I wish I had been cool, so I could have avoided those consequences. As it is, I am left merely with a sick and twisted mind, and an unreasonable antipathy towards anyone who says, "I'm cool." Marc
