... using Dr. House as my AV. Great show. But that's not what this thread is about.
Anyone seen the new FOX show, "Lie To Me"? Another great show. Very interesting subject matter, micro expressions and the like. If you've not watched it yet, I highly recommend it. It comes on Wednesday nights and deals mainly with a company that has was started by a man who is quite the expert at determining whether people are lying or not... this company is hired by and works in conjunction with other large companies, police departments and even the government in determining if suspects of criminal activities are being honest or if they are lying our their asses.
Brings up a question, for being the douches that they are, how is it that FOX ends up with some of the most thought provoking shows at times?
House, Lie To Me and even Family Guy... very anti-establishment, yet Rupert Murdoch is the biggest repub-whore there is.

I've really kinda stayed away from those channels. my time's divided between History, Learnin, Discovery, TV Land, AMC, TBS, FX, and embarrassing as it is to admit, cartoon network channel
I'll definitely give it a look see when it pops on...though most of those channels seem to have the 'reality show' and 'repackaged shit' mindset for most of the viewing schedule

They have potential for very big budgets and really good studios, last I heard. People really want to work with them even though they really don't want to work with THEM. It's a conundrum.

I'm a little nervous of the show "Lie to me", somehow I see everyone who watches that show becoming an expert on liars. And as a person with anxiety, I give off 'lie' vibes all the time, no matter how honest I am.
I went through this hell back in the mid-80's when a bunch of books came out on how to tell if someone's lying. Look away, your lying, twitch, your lying. It was a pain in the ass.

I second the praise for 'Lie To Me'. Interesting premise and well cast.

I watched the first episode of "Lie To Me". I was not a fan.
I used to watch House, but I kept missing episodes and I just fell out of it. I do watch the repeats on USA, though.
Family Guy is the shit. I own every episode on DVD.

I have developed a recent addiction to Leverage, which turned out to be better than I thought it would be. Also Bones, House (of course), Doctor Who (of also course), and I forget what else I was going to say because it is snowing a-fucking-gain.
Now I know why my friends laughed at me when I said I'd moved to Chicago.

House is pretty much the only mainstream drama I follow regularly.

It's been about 5 years since I could even tell you what the latest shows are. Mainly because I started working a job that switched from day to night shifts, I haven't really tried to keep up. Sports are about the only network TV I watch.

I don't watch things on schedule anymore. As it turns out, I have one of the DVR things. I had it for a month before I realized it I DVR House, Chuck, and Heroes. The first two because I like them, Heroes not so much. I keep watching it because I want it to get better. So far my attempts have been futile. I usually catch Bones on Hulu.

.Rupert Murdoch is the biggest repub-whore there is. Murdoch is an "anyone who promises to increase Murdoch's bank balance" whore more than anything. I don't really watch much American TV, or even much TV at all these days. I prefer to watch series on DVD, and have more boxsets than anyone really should. I travel a lot between the two places in my location field, don't have DVR or a video and can't always watch a series every week, so I'd rather wait for the DVD than miss great chunks watching it on TV. Besides, nice shiny box sitting on my shelf.

Same here, why can't Heroes be like it was the first season. At least the second half of the season hasn't been as craptacular as the first. I haven't wanted to throw something at my tv(yet).

I was so tired of waiting for Heroes to get good again that I just stopped watching it.

I'm very close to that point. But on the other hand waiting it out has paid off, Battlestar Galactica got good again after half a season of garbage, so who knows.

That's another advantage of waiting for the DVDs. By the time I got Heroes season 2, the internet had led me to believe it was such utter shite that there was no way it wouldn't exceed expectations.
