Eminem Punisher Team Up
Eminem has joined forces with Frank Castle in a digital comic book featuring The Punisher. The issue was written by Fred Van Lente and drawn by the Spanish artist Salvador Larocca. The idea began during a photo shoot where Eminem was posing for XXL magazine, and was asked to appear as a marvel comic book character. So he chose The Punisher. Eminem is a big comic book fan and collector. “We thought he might want to do something as Wolverine since the movie is coming out right now, or maybe Spider-Man or one of the classic big names, and we were pleasantly surprised when he said he wanted to do a story with the Punisher,” said Michael Pasciullo, vice president of merchandising and communications at Marvel Entertainment. “He’s a true fan, and it showed throughout the process.”"He also requested that the villain be Barracuda, and that’s when we knew we were dealing with a real fan,” Pascuillo said. “How many people know Barracuda? I think this was really fun for him, and I know it was fun for us.”
Eminem/Punisher: Kill You’
There is no arguing that Eminem is a genius at marketing his music. Most efforts, however, his exploits are more controversial. However, this time, for his upcoming release of “Relapse”, the rapper has done something incredibly AWESOME.
Eminem takes on The Punisher in the upcoming comic “Eminem/Punisher: Kill You.” The first half of the story will be featured as a bonus eight page special edition in comic in the June issue of XXL magazine. The conclusion of the story will be available on Marvel Digital Comics Unlimited starting May 5th. Rumors are that The Punisher eliminates Eminem’s posse just after the rapper finishes his set. Then all heck breaks loose.
