You're officially a civilized nation now. Or pretty close to it considering the kinks and all. No, we're not, it still has to go through the Senate.

Ha ha, Representative Cao is going to be beaten to death by his fellow Republicans!
Wait, that's not funny.
...or is it?

I love RR, they don't have the slightest clue it was their beloved republicans that raped the bill to become "buy a plan or pay the price"
they're such tools it's almost painfull to watch

My favorite quote on there: Hmmm. So things that fundies say they don't like, such as disease, can be cured by prayer but some other things they don't like (the healthcare bill) cannot be. So they don't have to do anything, and you're not allowed to. Convenient. Compassionate conservatism- I deeply sympathise with your problems and hope the free market can solve them.

Another thing I expect to be gotten rid of during the merge, at least I hope so. My favorite quote on there: It's things like this that me convinced Rapture Ready is not real. And this is coming from someone that just got back from working on a pro wrestling show. I really hope those kids don't get any serious illnesses as long as Jesus is their primary physician...

Well, it may not be the best bill, but it's a starting point, and right now that's the important part. Afterall when Social Security started it wasn't available to women and minorities, and we see where that particular provision went. This is where I am on the bill at the moment as well. We need to start something. I almost don't care anymore what it is! It's progress, however small.

You're officially a civilized nation now. Or pretty close to it considering the kinks and all. No, we're not, it still has to go through the Senate. ...and then through a conference of a few members of the House and Senate (since no bill even remotely important and/or controversial will pass both halves of Congress with absolutely no amendments), then back through the House and Senate in its revised form. Then it goes to Obama's desk for signing into law.

So... which version of this bill was passed, exactly? Is it even going to be half useful? They've proposed too many variations, and I haven't been able to keep them separate very well.

It has the public option, insurance companies can't deny you for preexisting conditions, it's mandatory to be insured, and abortion will only be covered with gov't insurance in the case of rape, incest, or threatens the mother's life.
