I know he was more of a deist but I really like this quote about using reason:
Shake off all the fears of servile prejudices, under which weak minds are servilely crouched. Fix reason firmly in her seat, and call on her tribunal for every fact, every opinion. Question with boldness even the existence of a God; because, if there be one, he must more approve of the homage of reason than that of blindfolded fear. - Thomas Jefferson

Donald Morgan's quote is something that has always bothered me about that tale. It's good dramatic writing, but the only way to square it is to conclude that Jesus didn't really know what was coming.

Of course, these two are so far left that they can at least laugh at their faith, which is always a plus.

The Charlie Brooker quote in my sig, which in case I change my sig at some point in the future is: "If the Bible had contained a passage that claimed gravity is caused by God pulling objects toward the ground with magic invisible threads, we'd still be debating Newton with idiots too."
