I'm pretty sure that someone mentioned the site in the comment section of a YouTube video I was watching. This was about a year ago.
When I first came to the site, I came purely for the main page. I peeked into the forum, but it seemed a bit intimidating, like a tight community, and I didn't feel like trying to work myself into the fold. My social awkwardness does not go away on the internetz. When the site changed to .net and the new forum came with it, I felt like it would be a good time to try to blend in. Now I feel at home and I love you guys. Yay.

We were making fun of religious crazies on another message board. Since I wanted to join in on the fun, I googled "religious fundamentalist quotes" and got this site.

My atheist friend discovered the main page somehow and passed it along to me. It took me a good long while to get up the gumption to join the boards, even longer to actually post.

I'm glad to know that I wasn't the only person who was shy on the old boards.

I was browsing deviantART entries on Encyclopedia Dramatica and eventually drifted from the dA entries to fundies through various links in the various articles. Then I landed on Carico's ED page and they mentioned her time here at FSTDT. There was even a link to FSTDT for a while, listed "A lulzy website" and I, being curious, clicked it.
Here I am, and you can thank ED and Carico for my presence here. ;D
P.S.
It was long enough ago that it very well may have been RejectedDreams' ED page that I found the link to FSTDT. But I do know that I got here from ED, so...yeah.

Yeah, I was very shy. From the outside we look like such a close community, and it's pretty true. At first on the old boards I felt like I was intruding.

Dude, it's like a family here.
We fight, and over some pretty dumb shit sometimes, but there's still a lot of love here.

Interestingly enough, I think it was around late 2005 to early 2006, I was reading some forums (I forget which forum it was now), and I encountered a thread that was taken over or hijacked by crazy fundie Christians or some group like that. I tried to read through the ramblings but some of the claims being made in that thread were so outlandish, I exclaimed to myself "Wow, fundies say the darndest things!". I then put that phrase into Google and discovered the original FSTDT main page. I lurked the main page for a good while before I started making the occasional comment on some of the quotes submitted there. Then after the move from FSTDT.com to FSTDT.net, I registered with this forum, and have been here since. Thejebusfire: Yeah, I know how that is. I have a big anxiety about joing or delurking to new groups on the Internet, mainly because I too fear that I'm going to open my mouth and say something stupid.

The URL was dictated to me by an archangel. I transcribed it onto golden plates and was mysteriously redirected here

Eh, I was doing some amature research through the web on why conservative fundies tended to be so fucking stupid and ignorant of everything they voiced their opinions on, and i hit a link to the front page, from there went to the forums

It was either TVTropes.org, or the RHJunior ED page.
