How exactly are higher taxes even a plausible excuse to stop writing books? Does she really think everyone's stupid enough to take her word over the sales figures? Honestly...

Coulter shutting up would be enough to make me believe in a higher power.

I was unaware that putting words on paper and then mailing it to a publisher cost most than the price of a few stamps and some time.

Coulter shutting up would be enough to make me believe in a higher power. Her jaw getting wired shut last year temporarily gave me pause.

OK, I literally lol'd at this. Thanks for posting, Fred. That's hysterical. Her other right wing buddies like Michael Savage are having a hard time selling shit here too.

Frankly, I still think the whole income-tax system is FUBAR. No matter how high taxes get for the rich, you'll never get all of the to actually PAY those taxes.
If it were translated to sales tax, you wouldn't be able to avoid paying it. It wuld be an invisible tax. And you wouldn't have to worry about IRS audits, or about a bunch of complete strangers in the government knowing exactly how much money you make. (And for the record, this is the only issue on which I agree with Huckabee.)

Sadly, I fear Coulter's alleged love for her country will move her to write nonetheless.
The only problem with this is it's essentially regressive - i.e., the rich can store most of their money, or spend it where there is no such tax. Lower and middle-income types have to spend usually all of their money to continue living at their present quality of life and they're not going to be able to move it as far. Thus lower and middle-income families would see all of their money sapped by taxation, while the rich would still be able to avoid the brunt of it.

(And for the record, this is the only issue on which I agree with Huckabee.) I think this would be better addressed by simply streamlining the tax code. The problem with a flat tax is it has a tendency to limit the spending power of the poor, who already pay little or more taxes, locking the middle class in place, and doing nothing to prevent the hoarding of wealth that is the real problem with the upper class right now. The bulk of this money isn't going into the system. As mentioned by nausea, this prompts rich people to opt for places without such restrictions for luxury items. Kind of discourages them, actually, to put money into this system

She writes the same damned book over and over, and people buy it. Still, she didn't carve out the most cerebral market segment to market to. Her silence would be a blessing.
