Right! As we all know, the most important part about whatever you're celebrating around the winter solstice is the presents! Material things we can put a clear value on, and should hoard 'til the day we die. After all, the guy with the most stuff when he dies, wins. So, let's share and gloat and all that stuff that comes with the spirit of the seaon!
My brother got me a Jesus action figure! Complete with poseable arms & gliding action! So cool... I thought those types of things only existed across the pond somewhere over there in the 'US and A'. Other than that, I didn't really get anything remarkable, and I pretty much asked my family not to buy me anything just for the sake of buying. Especially since I already got a really good pair of hiking boots a couple of months ago from my parents, as an early christmas present.
What about you? Did you get or give anything really cool?

Out of all the books I wanted, the book store only had one (luckily one of the manga I wanted I can get in town). And that book was Naked Lunch by William S. Borrough.

I got a graphics tablet for my computer from my mom--well really, I told her I wanted one and she gave me money. Heh. I bought myself a microphone that also hooks up to the computer, so I can begin recording stuff for my demo CD for the cruise ship audition people. New toys! Wheee!

I got two awesome Homestar Runner shirts (one has Homsar and the other one is a Sloshy shirt), tech support to help me partition my shiny new MacBook, and a huge chunk of chocolate. Yay! \(^3^)/

iPod Touch, which was good because my old iPod was five years old and kind of worked when it wanted to listen to music, not me. My brother got me a manga I wanted, which was really nice of him.
And my grandmother sent me $100. ;D

I got a nice headset for my Let's Play from my Mom (I picked it out, though)
A gray (ick) hoodie from my father...
And a Looney Tunes Spotlight Collection DVD from my cat (actually myself, but I wrapped it as if it were from him)

Let see... I got a slow cooker, a sewing machine, a hand blender, a tea set, a set of oven mitts, a rasp (for carving), socks, underwear and about $75 in gift cards.
Not a bad haul considering I only requested the slow cooker and rasp.
Though I did have a slight heart attack when I opened my stocking because it contained a dog toy and for a moment I feared my family was going to surprise me with a puppy, which is something I do not want (well, right now anyway).

Absolutely nothing.
Having no friends or family who give a shit about you kinda sucks around the holidays.

Lessee, I got a bunch of assorted moneys, which was basically what I asked for, a new shirt, a load of chocolate, a new alarm clock and a pair of boxers that say 'Lazy' in big letters. Subtle, mum, real subtle.

A massive encyclopedia containing condensed reference information about every dinosaur known prior to the date it was published (okay, it was written in 1997, but whatever), complete with summaries of the latest research and illustrations of the fossil material.
The paleontology student is satisfied.

A new MP3 player (it's only 2gigs, but at least it doesn't freeze when it plays), and the X-men Origins DVD. Yay, Deadpool.

Books, which are always the perfect present for me. And some cash, which I'll probably use to buy books.
