I've got some spare time and a bunch of handmade crafts so I decided to open an Etsy account. It's not as easy as I thought it would be!
Any pros got some tips for a newb?

My familiarity with Etsy is limited to the knowledge that Cait has one. If only she would swoop in here and answer all your questions!

Uhm, yeah, don't ask me. There are a lot of articles and how-tos and guides in the 'Storque' (don't ask me why they call it that, it's like an FAQ with much longer answers), and they have a forum where you can ask questions and stuff. As it is I'm scrapping everything I made for the silver and closing up. Good luck, I have no doubt you'll do way better than I did.

I might be able to help, I worked up a fairly decent knowledge of Etsy trying to help Cait with things, (and Maryland tax law, which is simpler than you'd think, but I doubt you need that.) But yeah, I'd check out the FAQs an the forums over there, they're pretty good.

And <3 for the link. I have lots of reading/watching to do.

I'm having fun with this banner thingie. What ye think? www.yojetak.etsy.comps. It's too bad you're closing up shop, cait. I wouldve totally made you a banner. Glass Dragon gave me so many ideas! It's like a black light popped up over my head.

Whoa! Eyeballs! Most brilliant. You know, in a creepy sort of way. I'll be checking back to see what you have up. Because, you know, you are awesome. (Also, I just had to pay $200 for a car repair and can't afford a haircut now so it'll be a while before I can get you some hair.)
Don't worry about me--the only thing in my jewellery worth anything is the silver, hence why my pliers and I are gutting everything.

Congrats on opening an etsy store! Wish you much luck. *Art director hat Eyeballs are the awesome. <3 Variations in the iris colors might be awesome as well. You might want to make the text more off-center or just go ahead and center it. Moving your header text more off-center would push your third eyeball graphic closer to the right edge of the header, narrowing the empty space slightly. I think it would appear more balanced, but you'd have to try it first to make sure. The bullets are a little large, (I see them and don't read the sub text at all). Bringing them down a couple points would work. To prevent the eye from bouncing up from text to bullet and back again, centering the bullets according to the x height helps. It's a straight quick read. You're already on etsy so the web addy looks redundant. More room to focus on Yojetak. As for fonts, you've got a funky theme and your text seems super rigid. I'm not suggesting you go get some crazy font, but maybe a nice sans serif with a little flair at the terminals, ears or neck. The idea of a font that's a little off fits into your weird crafts.

You have a good eye. When looking over it again today, that's pretty much what I thought too. <3 I just don't know what font to make the subhead. What I currently have is okay atm, but it doesn't feel right. Take another look and tell me what you think. ps. The eyeballs are all my eye. That's why they're all blue.

The eyes make sense then. (I'm not entirely sure if the color would help more than hurt the banner, so keeping things simple is most likely better in this situation).
Personal pref, I hate when fonts use diamonds on the i's. I think another font called London Undergraound does that. Great free font aside from the dots. But that's only my taste so you can ignore it if you want.
Since this banner is going to be a very quick read for most people, as long as the font you use is clear enough, I would suggest using the same font for both main and subtext. It's also difficult to match one sans serif with another that's only slightly different. It tends to look a bit odd.
There's another font that might work for the main and sub text, it's called Junction. Cons: the "u" needs editing it looks a bit wonky. The font is free so it lacks some characters. Pros: It's a sans serif with simple but unique shapes and it's easy to read large or small. Monaco can be used as a sub for the missing characters. I know it's like type sacrilege, but sometimes you just gotta break the rules. For this version I would suggest keeping the subtext just behind the "j".
Yet another free option might be Champagne & Limousines. Although it's a fairly straight sans serif, the weight compliments the black outlines around your eyeball graphics pretty nicely and it has it's own personality. The type dork in me also loves the apostrophe. Cons: Yet another free font, be prepared for a limited character set. Kerning needed. Already pretty much covered the Pros. For this version I would suggest aligning the subtext with the edge of the "j's" tail (descender).
I'm sticking with free fonts assuming you don't feel like paying $80 and up for one you may only use once.

I liked the diamonds

It's ok we don't have to love all the same things. That's kinda why I said it's just me. There's nothing actually wrong with the diamonds, I just be hatin'. I would seriously kill for a giant font database. <_< I should really gank a disk from my old job.
