The AP is reporting that Scott Brown the Republic candidate to fill Ted Kennedy's senate seat has won.
This means the Democrats will no longer have a 60 seat majority in the Senate. So the GOP can now filibuster every thing and anything.

I don't think this could possibly be any worse. We lost fucking MASSACHUSETTS, the state where this kind of legislation was BORN. Face it, for at least the next 3 years, we're not getting anything done, nevermind health reform. We got comfortable on top, fucked up, and now we have to reap the consequences.

Brown ran a brilliant campaign (we get the local channels of America's North East out in Nova Scotia, so I saw all of the commercials), in that he didn't actually mention that he was a Republican.
Did anyone see Jon Stewart's commentary on the whole thing? He blew up at the Dems for being unable to do anything with only an 18 seat majority (pointing out that the GOP never had such an advantage, and Bush did whatever the fuck he wanted).

They were powerless when they were 60 to 40 due to the fact that the Dems have no balls and are trying to assure bipartaniship on every thing. Ironbite-this is a loss but it's not that big a loss due to how the Dems were faring when they had the majority. |

Yeah, they haven't been doing much of anything even with a supermajority. I don't see much change here. And the rules for filibusters are total bullshit.

Also, they only had a supermajority in the first place if you count Lieberman, which I don't.
I am probably going to vote Socialist in the midterms. Hell, it's not like my district is up for grabs anyway.

There are no Blue States or Red States.
This and Prop 8 proves this.
I give him the remanding two years of the term.
I hope this will motivate others to take issues seriously in regards to November.
