Are they kidding? Passion of the Christ was rated R too and probably had a lot more graphic violence than this...the question is - will true believers rally around a science fiction movie with their pet themes? I figure between this and Legion the end of the world idiots have their pick of fantasies this January. www.imdb.com/title/tt1038686/

Also a negro is in the title role. I'm not sure I would want my kids exposed to such things.

I think this and Legion both look like shit.
As in they look like straight to DVD movies with a slightly bigger budget.

I don't know legion looks kinda cool, as I recall the movie is about one of God's angel's sent to kill the mother of the anti-christ but decides to protect her from the forces of heaven.
I may not hold to the beliefs but this does look like an interesting take on the christian mythology

The concept of Legion might be cool, but judging from the commercials, I have to agree that it looks like shit.

I've heard the plot of the Book of Eli, and I'm surprised anyone ever approved such an impossibly stupid script to begin with.
Legion looks like it might at least have some decent decapitation scenes or the like.
Both, however, strike me as poorly-written Rapture porn. I've already seen A Thief in the Night, and I figure one Rapture movie is enough.

Legion has G-d as the villain. No fundie support there. well all the good people have already been taken...or something...basically god looses faith in humanity and decides he will wipe us out like he did in the flood except with angels. I think the woman is bearing the saviour too, not the anti-christ and God doesn't want us saved because he is pissed...or something.

According to Wikipedia, G-d has decided to wipe out the human race, using angels this time instead of a flood. The Archangel Michael (ironically, the angel of death) turns against G-d and tries to save a woman who may be pregnant with Jesus in his second coming.
Now I'm confused - effectively, G-d and Jesus are on opposite sides? Lends weight to my "Jesus is the anti-Christ" theory.

Wait-- Michael is the Angel of Death in that movie? Even Darksiders got Azrael right, and they made Tiamat a fucking bat!

Azrael? The Angel of Death? Only in Catholic-land and Muslim-ville. The only angels that are ever actually named in the Bible are Michael, Gabriel, and Lucifer. If you count the Apocrypha you also get Raphael. If you count the Dead Sea Scroll's Book of Encoh, you also get Raguel, Remiel, Saraqael, and Uriel. But no "Azrael."

It's a movie about a religious scenario. Therefore, it has absolutely zero theological accuracy. Furthermore, the inaccuracies are so glaring that you can probably be almost completely ignorant of every single religion in the world & realize that fact.
Pattern recognition!

He's certainly a more militant/badass angel - hell, he made Badass of the Week!
