I'm a female who got the random idea to do some cross-dressing. Not sure why...
But I'm hoping for some good advice on how to look convincing. Should I bind with sports bras or Ace bandages? Should I add any sort of makeup? What is a good hairstyle? How should I walk?

Wear clothing from the men's department. If you're not adverse to going butch on your hair, do that, too.
Overall, it's harder for a woman to cross-dress as a man as effectively as a man can do the opposite. There just aren't that many things that are boy-only these days.

Here is a pretty good make-up guide. Sports bra should work well enough, and a loose shirt. Possibly layers, if you can stand them.

If you have the cash, order a binder from Underworks.
And depending on your shape it can be easier/harder to find stuff.
I suggest once you figure out how to bind, just go into the boys/mens section and try on stuff until you're happy. Comfort is key, button-down shirts can be quite flattering.

Sadly, I don't have the cash for a binder. : ( Or a stuffer.

For walking style, imitate John Wayne in any of his westerns. No. Wait. Maybe not.

Does anyone know a good way to make masculine long hair? My hair is long and curly, and my parents are very against me cutting it. For a bind, I'm trying gauze bandages, but I can only afford so many (five rolls for ten dollars). As for movement and gestures, I'm aping males in my class.
Also, some people have issues with cross-dressers. Anyone know any snarky comebacks?
Sorry, I'm a total newbie!

I'd suggest putting the hair in a ponytail.

also try stuffing a sock in your pants to stuff. What works for me is "I get waaaaaay more action than you."

I'd suggest putting the hair in a ponytail. I'll try that. And the gauze isn't working. I'd better find some more bandages. I'll probably post pictures, by the way. But I'm ugly.

They sell a false flaccid penis for gender-bending at stockroom.com. You'd have to get a harness as well, but it's something to put on a wish list for when you eventually do get money if you still feel like going around male from time to time.
Also, you could get a wig for the hair. If not, remember that male ponytails are different from female ones. More often than not, male ponytails are just tying the hair into a bunch at the base of the neck and not pulled up in any fashion.

Ponytails can be fashioned?
Oh, for clothing selection, here's what you do. You grab a shirt. You grab a pair of pants. You put them on. You're done. Whether or not they look good together is completely irrelevant.
Back to the hair thing, I can't speak for all males, but here is what I do to my hair for a normal day: Look at it in the mirror and see it's still there.
