Ponytails can be fashioned? Oh, for clothing selection, here's what you do. You grab a shirt. You grab a pair of pants. You put them on. You're done. Whether or not they look good together is completely irrelevant. Back to the hair thing, I can't speak for all males, but here is what I do to my hair for a normal day: Look at it in the mirror and see it's still there. You've got short hair, though. You can't really do that so well when it's long.

If you don't mind wearing a hat, putting your hair up udner it can work.
I'm not an expert on FTM crossdressing, but one thing I can say is:
Attitude.
You know that Eddie Izzard line about how it's 10% what you say, 90% how you say it?
Same thing here. Though it's probably not those exact numbers. Unfortunately, nobody can really coach you on it, but if you can project it, it's a huuuge benefit.

That's true, most of it is how you carry yourself and speak.
As for the physical aspects, bunched up socks have worked for me just fine. Binder, if you can't afford one from Underworks or T-Kingdom, try slightly too small sport bras. Though this also depends on your chest size. The smaller you are, the easier this method will be.

I always just pull my hair back at the base of my neck, not really pulled up in any fashion. Not trying to look manly, my hair is just too thin to do anything with...

Now this is an interesting topic. How can a female pass herself off as a male. Being that I have no clue about cross-dressing but I will pit my cognitive heuristics up to the challenge out of boredom. You are going to have to observe how men walk and form a generalized style. I am assuming that due to hip structure differences between men and women this could be tricky. Observation can be easily done via a cell phone video camera. Simply feign texting someone while angling the cell phone’s camera downwards. Athletic shoes for men and women are not so different, especially for running or jogging. A belt can be helpful if you are going to wear men’s pants, hip length can be excused if you carry the following at you side: GPS, cell phone or knife. Knives tent to be unisex equipment, or from what I observed while a college… Do not carry a knife unless you know how to use it. Depending o the weather, if applicable, wear a heavy coat or multiple shirts to fill out your frame. Some women have an ‘hour glass figure’, I cannot assume anything about for body figure and I am hesitant to ask. Observe and study the metacommunication of men you know, body language, hand and facial gestures, arm positions, stances, ect. Observe and study common conversation topics and greetings, be prepared to memorize them. Stuff that cannot be passed off. Adams apple, en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Laryngeal_prominence#Sex_differences try not to look upwards.

Adams apple, en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Laryngeal_prominence#Sex_differences try not to look upwards. This is very good advice! I actually bought a pair of men's jeans yesterday, and they do a good job of hiding my hips. However, it is possible to create the illusion of an Adam's apple by shading that area of your neck a bit. It's not the most convincing illusion, but it is possible.

I will point out that it's not uncommon for men to have a very subtle Adam's apple so you might not have to do anything.

I had figured that if you were going to pass you self off as male, you would need a separate yet convincing name to match. www.fakenamegenerator.com/You can tailor a false name and what not down to some of the finer details. Being that you will need to blend in with other people and what not.

The ponytail thing's right, just a loose, base-of-the-neck ponytail. I'm a guy with long hair, it's how I handle it at work. A hat would probably help as well.
