FSTDT reborn and the FSTDT Refugee Board are one year old this week! Happy Rebirth Day, everyone!
In honor of this being one year to the week since Distind did resurrect the site and the boards from The Great Yahweh Catastrophe, I do hereby decree this to be a week of celebration! Tip your hats, tap your glasses, and remember when, because this is a victory and a gift to us all by the people who made it happen:
Distind - Our glorious leader and fine coder of the site who did rebuild our home when it was taken from us.
Napoleon the Clown - The first Mod, and the man responsible for hunting down Yahweh when all hope seemed lost.
Maddog - Nick-swapping user from the olden days who further hunted down Yahweh and talked her into handing over the .com to our glorious leader.
And to a much lesser extent...
Lady Renae - First new Mod of the new forums, but was a standard user when she revived the IRC after Titan_Uranus locked it down in a temper fit.
Cheers, all, and be merry! Remember the old, relish the new, and treasure the years forthcoming.

Happy neobirthday, us!
I was going to make a creepy metaphor, but decided instead to go get drunk in the honour of everyone who makes this site awesome.

Not really. Hardly anyone uses the IRC compared to the forums and the mainpage, and without the forums and the mainpage, the IRC would be meaningless anyway. So, yeah a peripheral is less significant than the main pieces.

Wait, a year, really? It doesn't seem that long... Are you sure it wasn't, like, August? Or May? August seems unlikely, because I remember hiding my birthday so I wouldn't get a thread on it, and I know we talked about Halloween, so not October... It still doesn't seem that long, though.

I can't believe it's gone by so fast D:
I came here not expecting to fit in or make more than a few posts. This place, and the people especially, have come to mean a lot to me. Happy rebirth day!

I moved in with the transsexuals in May, the new forums were definitely established at that point. ETA: Look at the date of the first post of the intro thread.

I dropped the money on re-registering the .net domain and didn't even think about the fact that I'd been banging this stuff around for a year now.
Well, in good news I've dropped the money to cover the fstdt.net address for five years. I have no intention of letting it go any time soon, even if I don't have the time to do the improvements I'd like to. I'm looking at moving to yearly payments on the hosting plan, but I want to be sure It's going to last us a year before I do so.
That said, we do have mods who are cracking out ideas on re-working portions of the site which are sounding better and better. Once I get my new desktop up and running again I'll be making some arrangements to both backup the site's code and potentially make it accessable to others. If anyone is interested let me know, odds are I'll run you through a few paces and want some examples of code before I do anything, and that may take me a while.
But, FSTDT, it's still more powerful than Jesus, and it isn't going away any time soon.

Damn, I knew I should've taken more time to study web design and whatnot. It just seemed so...peripheral.
Also, hell yeah! To many more years of generally fucking around!

See? As the first mod, I'm an old man. A grumpy old man. Which excuses me being a humorless dick on occasion.
