Are you in the system? www.spokeo.com/ Search your name and see if you made it into the database...shows pictures of you, your income level, how much your house is worth if you own one and a list of relatives....how the hell they got all that info in the first place is a little interesting to say the least.

It pulled up 532 people with my exact first and last name. But none of them were me. Edit: but I looked up my parents and I can tell you the info here is wrong. My neighborhood is not "below average", we do not have central heating, and the year our house was built is off by over 20 years.

I am not in that and neither are most of my relatives.
My grandpa's name has 4138 matches. It's quite the common name.

I'm not in there, but I looked up my parents, and most of the info was right...about 10 years ago. But some of it was right as of today. Like, it thinks my parents are 10 years younger than they are, but the time of home ownership is right. It also said my 86 year old Grandpa is in his "Late 30s." But the google street view was right, even though street view itself thinks my house is a block away from its actual location. That was fairly creepy.

They have my house, of course you can get that off of property appraisers sites. That is about the only thing they got right. Hell it even says I'm not interested in politics.

I looked up myself and some people I know. The information is quite inaccurate.

I did some info digging about the site more last night and this is what I came across. It is a website kind of like a background check, only quite more detailed than a background check if you ask me. If you see up in the top right of the screen there is a "Join" button, and for a small fee, you can join the website and then ALL the info you are saying is inaccurate becomes as accurate as the site can get. The reason some of the stuff is accurate is because what we saw was merely a trail run..IE here is some stuff to get you hooked and if you pay us the small fee the rest becomes visible (accurate). So ya...still creepy that for just a couple bucks you could learn A LOT about someone...but I guess if you were a company hiring..it could serve a very interesting purpose!
