Charlie Crist announced yesterday that he was leaving that GOP in order to run for US senate as an independent. Why? Well the GOP and the Tea-baggers push to the right would have seen Crist lose the primary to Marco Rubio, the former state speaker of the house. So Charlie decided to give the GOP the proverbial finger and become the third party candidate which could cost Rubio the race and the GOP a tea party star. I don't agree or much like Crist, but if it looks like Kendrick Meek the Democratic candidate can't win the race I may vote for Crist just to make sure Rubio does not win. ......that and without Charlie having to kiss GOP ass maybe he will grow a spine. www.cnn.com/2010/POLITICS/04/29/crist.independent/index.html |

Woah...really? So can we take it as paid this is the first rat to leave the sinking ship?
Ironbite-how long until the GOP becomes the independent and we get a true left-right divide in this country?

So he did leave... My fiancee and I were out to dinner the other night and the restaurant had the local station on, waiting for the announcement. However, we had to leave before the announcement was actually made and I forgot to look yesterday.
Good for Crist. This is a good sign of hope. Not all Repubs are competely brainless.
