Random conversation I had with Vene. 'Gender' is mental, sex is physical in this case. Option three should read, "My gender doesn't match my sex, but I'm never sure what it IS..." but that didn't fit. ^^

I have a penis and am quite disgruntled with this mix-up.

Female, physically and mentally. I'm not really a girly-girl, but I've never questioned my gender. I feel that the whole "sugar and spice and everything nice" stereotype is largely a societal construct, anyway.

I've never really identified as anything, really. Sometimes I love the idea of wearing loose shirts and binding my breasts and passing as a long-haired guy; other days I'm all about flowers and jewelry and frilly skirts.
The only thing I like about the parts I have over the parts I don't, is that it makes wearing skirts on my "girly days" easier to get away with.
That said, monthly cycles can be a real PitA.

I'm physically male. Mentally, I'm not so sure. I don't feel like a man, and I don't feel like a woman either.

I'm biologically female and enjoy being so, but I also have a lot of testosterone that leads to male-associated personality traits, and I kind of like that, too. Also, it means I have awesome muscle tone compared to a lot of women and great bone density.
So pretty much I'm a girly-girl with huge metaphorical nads.

I've always been happy being a boy/guy/man/male/assigned gender. It's a foreign concept to me that others aren't but I understand that is the case. And I'm all for helping those I care about (like you fine folk) feel comfortable in their own skin.

I act pretty girly, but I don't really feel female, I also think that 'mauve' and 'violet' are just fancy names for 'purple' so I am legally forbidden to be female.
Honestly though, I am totally apathetic about my gender and sex, if I woke up tomorrow as a different sex, it would not really affect the way I feel about myself.

I'm female mentally and physically, and I'm content with that. At one point I was questioning myself, though that was years ago during my depression. I seem to have a few male traits though, possibly explaining the reason guys have befriended me.

I'll give my answer a la Linkara:
I AM A MAN! *punch!*
Yeah, I'd say my mental and physical state match up to male. =) Though, I do admit that I'm curious to see how it physically feels on the other side, but not on a permanent basis.

Something random to think about for people who don't feel they have gender is that it could match up nonetheless, just because it's recognized by society. A lot of cisgendered people don't notice their gender for the same reason white people often don't realize that they have a race, and straight people don't often self-identify as straight. The default that's expected, tolerated, and encouraged (to the exclusion of all else, which is often actively discouraged) often isn't felt by the dominant parties, because it lacks the grinding feeling that you get when you go against the grain. You don't really notice what doesn't stick out or get discouraged.

I don't think that I fit the definition of "female", aside from the physical characteristics. This may be because of the outdated definition of "woman" that I've grown up with.
A lot of times I wish I'd been born male, but I'm pretty much at ease with my body.
EDIT: No one's going to yell at me for wearing skirts and pants (though they might mock my unshaven legs) which wouldn't be the case if I had a penis. I might get a *few* weird looks if my shirts button the 'wrong way' (i.e. opposite the female positioning, which really doesn't make sense to me) but I'm pretty free to have an iffy, fluid gender.
Sssso I guess I'm not very attached to my sex, yet not disgruntled with it either?

When I first started having sexual fantasies, and for a few years after that, I would always imagine myself as the guy instead of the girl. Other than that, I've never really had any thoughts or feelings about my gender and I'm happy and comfortable saying, "I'm a girl."
