So, Gallup has been collected information about wellbeing in the US, and the results are interesting. Here's the link to the article: www.gallup.com/poll/116497/Rankings-Reveal-State-Strengths-Weaknesses.aspxTop three states: Utah, Hawaii and Wyoming Bottom three states: West Virginia (where I live), Kentucky (where I was born) and Mississippi (where I'll probably end up) Here's the breakdown of the components of the study, and what states ended up where: You'll notice it sucks to live in West Virginia. Other really interesting stuff is that it's broken down by Congressional district as well. If you go to this link, it will generate the report quickly. www.ahiphiwire.org/wellbeing/Guess which Congressional district is the worst? At 435/435, it's the one I was born in and lived in for two decades. Good old 5th district Kentucky. And family back there wonder why I say I never want to come back...

Well, we're not as bad as you, but my state and district both suck. Both are in the lower 20%.

Yay for Colorado, in the upper 20%. And apparently the midwest is a really bad place to live.

And apparently the midwest is a really bad place to live. Anybody unfortunate enough to live here and be intelligent could have told you that. Chicago isn't bad as far as interpersonal atmosphere, though, so it doesn't COMPLETELY suck to be a midwesterner.

No, really, it sucks here. Maybe a 5 years to a decade ago we won't have been in the lowest 20%, but considering our unemployment rate and that the educated people have already left, I'm not surprised.

Considering my home district is the worst place to live in America (a fact I've known since I was about 5 years old), I'm pretty sure none of you are entitled to say it sucks where you live. :-p

And apparently the midwest is a really bad place to live. Anybody unfortunate enough to live here and be intelligent could have told you that. But now it's SCIENCE! I've always wanted to live in Chicago. I hear you have horrible winters there. It sounds wonderful.

I live in Maryland, and we're doing pretty well it seems. But I go to school in WV, and clearly, we suck. This confirms what I've always believed.

I'm now hoping I've never had you as a teacher, because while I think you are awesome, it would be kind of weird. Seeing teachers outside of the classroom is always weird.
