This argument is besides the point--sexuality doesn't work that way, but even if it *did*...so what? Religion is a choice.

But it's easier to demonize a choice than an inborn trait.

Wheather or not being a homosexual is a choice or not, it is nobody's business but the person it effects.
Ironbite-the fact that some religions feel its something to be feared and ostrazised just sickens me.

I understand what you're saying, but the fact is the more they say that my "lifestyle" is a choice, the easier it is to discount me for various reasons.

I just turn it back on them and talk about their CHOICE of religion. I don't like the implication I "just can't help myself"--then they start comparing me to an inborn-pedophile. It's not the point. The point is there's nothing wrong with it, choice or not.

Comparisons to pedophilia are ridiculous, anyway. It's closer to being a lefty--It's neither inherrently negative nor harmful to others.

On most of the issues they take a stand on, who is being effected is very rarely, if ever, considered. And when those being effected, they make up some bat-shit insane reason how they are effected. Or how the act/person/whatever the hell effects teh public at large. I do strongly agree with what you are saying though. And it truly is a shame that it can't be like that.

...did you just insult me then compliment me for whatever reason? Of course it isn't my fist day dealing with idiots. Logic rarely, if ever, enters into the minds of fundies. I'm just tired of people screaming about how the homos should be locked up cause they want marriage.
Ironbite-just irks me alot.

I say it's time to rise up against this ass-backwards world and demand decent scissors, powertool safety switches that we can operate, and an official apology for the whole sinister thing! You don't have to switch the mouse and stick shit around though. Lefties, the only people in their right minds! ;D

Lefties used to be shunned and mistreated too, you know. SOLIDARITY, BROTHERS (AND SISTERS)! Yeah, and used to be forced to write right handed even. I got a dose of that, and that was in the eighties FFS. Always religious types, too. Heaven must be boring with all them assembly line twits.

Saw a great bumper sticker this week, BTW:
I'm gay. You're an asshole (hole was scraped off) I was born one. You will die one.

I found this on the Washington Post discussion forum in a discussion about the DC Council passing a law to recognize same-sex marriages performed elsewhere. "cmaryfitz wrote: I'm a straight, married woman, and I'm sitting here trying to be come a lesbian, and it doesn't seem to be working. Can someone please tell me how it is you choose to do this? No matter what I try, I still prefer men." I just thought it was funny and wanted to share. ;D I thought it was funny, too.
