So I don't know, I figured I could use some help with this whole comic thing. I want to make comics and I'm adapting my art style so that I can create characters more easily but I'm still kind of D: about scripts
What I want to start off with is just simple four panel stuff but instead of a setup/punchline format I want to illustrate things kind of like quotes from the IRC/ ridiculous conversations.
but that's just what I want. I'll consider any advice or idea so I think if you have something you should post it! I'll provide a sample of my art style in just a bit.

The lettering needs to be thicker, a thicker line. That way it'll be more visible & readable and more comic-like.
You also need to adjust the levels/contrast in the image so that the whites are truly white and the blacks are truly black. That will make it look a lot more professional. What kind of image editing software do you have?
I like the idea and would be glad to help out with whatever tips and tricks I've got under my hat. Good luck.

It'd bring some colour into the quotes thread

I have no image editing software and no access to new materials right now! The letters are actually quite big up close but I shrunk the image down because I am shy. I'm aiming for an actual finished product anyways, to be distributed at next year's Small Press Expo <3 but yeah, I need practice! I need consistency! I need to figure out what the fuck to do with background! grah!

I think there's a free Photoshop-like program called GIMP. I haven't tried it, but I hear a lot of people like it.
It's not that the lettering needs to be bigger, but that the lines of the letter could be thicker.

Hmm, Ok, I definitely need to practice lettering. Maybe I'll take another conversation from Quotes From the IRC

GIMP is good for relatively basic stuff.
One thing to try is to get the images scanned in (don't even have to be colored, just so long as the scanner picks up the lines just fine) then you can color it in the program so that it looks more vibrant and touch up lines, too. Then you can add in text boxes so that the text is sharper, crisper, and thick enough to see without smearing together.
