I decided to make a thread for the results of the 2010 midterm elections. We can post the results as they become available. I'm hoping that the craziest candidates lose, but who knows at this point?
Winners: Rand Paul (KY) Marco Rubio (FL) Jim DeMint (SC) Sam Brownback (KS) Nikki Haley (SC) Pat Toomey (PA)
Losers: Christine O'Donnell (DE) Linda McMahon (CT) Carl Paladino (NY) Sharron Angle (NV) Tom Tancredo (CO) Meg Whitman (CA) Ken Buck (CO)

I still hope to see losses here:
Candidate: Christine O'Donnell State: Delaware Position: Senate Details: Opposes both masturbation and abortion; believes abortion ought to be illegal even in cases of rape or incest, but that if the woman's life is in danger then the family should get to decide whose life to save. Opposes embryonic stem cell research and cloning, perhaps due to a paranoid belief that mice are being given human brains. Doesn't understand the concept of separation of church and state, and was stumped on the content of the 14th and 16th Amendments. Doesn't believe in evolution and said that homosexuality is an identity disorder. Like a character yanked from a Chick Tract, claims to have dated a Satanist and dabbled in witchcraft.
Candidate: Carl Paladino State: New York Position: Governor Details: Against gay marriage and staunchly pro-life. Part of many corrupt business deals in which he gave cash to prominent politicians in return for development contracts. Wants to use eminent domain to seize the land for the "Ground Zero Mosque" and prevent its construction. Created a plan for poor people to voluntarily come to reformed prisons in order to be taught how to "earn" their checks and maintain basic hygiene. Sent out racist and pornographic emails including videos of a woman having sex with a horse.
Candidate: Pat Toomey State: Pennsylvania Position: Senate Details: Supports jailing doctors who perform abortions and received a 100% rating from the National Right to Life Committee. Opposed the Kyoto Protocol and supported opening the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge to oil drilling, earning him a 0% rating from the League of Conservation Voters. Voted in favor of the Federal Marriage Amendment and supported legislation prohibiting LGBT persons from adopting children. Supported a bill that would have decreased the waiting period for background checks from three days to one for purchases made at gun shows. Was supported by James Dobson in his 2004 run for Senate.
Candidate: Sharron Angle State: Nevada Position: Senate Details: Told T.E.A. Party supporters that "Sharia law" had taken over places like Dearborn, MI and such areas with large Muslim populations represent a "militant terrorist situation." Wants to abolish the Department of Education and withdraw our nation from the UN. Wants to privatize Medicare, even after the 2008 economic disaster. Opposes abortion in all situations, including rape and incest, because it's against "God's plan." Proposed a bill in 1999 that would have would have required doctors to inform women seeking abortions about the (bogus) link between abortion and breast cancer. Isn't just in favor of keeping marijuana illegal, but also supports criminalizing alcohol. Supports lifting bans on offshore drilling, favors oil drilling in Arctic National Wildlife Refuge and believes anthropogenic global warming to be a myth. Supported the Federal Marriage Amendment. Told a crowd of Latino students that they "looked Asian" to her.

I want them to win just so I could see what damage they could do.

I want them to win just so I could see what damage they could do. How bad do you want things to get?

I heard that Christine O'Donnell is losing...good, and Alan Grayson is losing which makes me sad, but the proves my theory that this country sucks ass, and that people are dumber than shit.

Well he did shoot himself in the foot with that Taliban Dan ad. Note to politicians: don't make it appear as though your opponent is saying the opposite of what they actually said. It just makes you look like an ass.

Yes, it's good that she lost. Carney won the seat in the House that was held by Castle. All of Delaware's Congressman are Democrats, I'm happy. Now hopefully the Dems don't lose their majority.
