As I understand it, DNA is replicated by RNA, which is what I believe they're getting at. And a bunch of proteins, don't forget them.

Wise choice, lest you be flaunting your science in my face. Evidently, I did forget about them. But I think I get the idea now.
There's also apparently a Pre-RNA World Hypothesis, but the link on the RNA World Hypothesis page of Wikipedia just links back to the same page it was on.
