Oh, so governments now do less shady things than they did before Wikileaks? Mind posting the evidence for such? Of course not, they just don't write them down anymore.

Wikileaks doesn't know who is a covert agent and who isn't. If they misadvertantly leak some spy's name, it's the government's fault for not telling them to edit it out. If the government wanted anything edited, they would have asked, so clearly there is no danger involved. They would if the US told them what to edit.

Obama's no worse than any other leader. I just used him as an example. The fact remains that a lot of people seem to think we should have "faith" (ie belief without proof) in the government's benevolence. Yes, we all know you don't like government just because...despite all your 'reasons' being quashed multiple times over

It's true, my presence tends to polarize people. At another board I drove a Hannity "OMG Arab terrorists gov needs to protect us" style neocon to the point where he said we should refuse citezensip to Arabs and make it conditional for blacks. He also said there was nothing wrong with the government in V for Vendetta. I wonder how far I can push worlder. He already supports China, maybe I can get it up to NK or Stalin. No, it's because you're a fuckin' retard without a clue

Hmm, I accept your challenge. Poisoned knives at dawn. On a less loony note, first show me that NK can be steered toward a better future. For Stalin, he has no future, he's dead.

Your argument is asinine. If the government tells Wikileaks what names to edit out, Wikileaks now knows who the covert operators are. What you think that there can't be leaks from Wikileaks. Wikileaks asking the Government to provide such information or face the documents being released anyways is blackmail.

Some other developments.
Apparently, the Israeli PM would have allowed the West Bank to be Ceded as Palestinian territory. I can't quote this, as i read it in a paper and not on the net, but i'm sure somewhere we can find it.
Al-Jazera maybe...

Weird really. The military wikileaks was interesting, because the propaganda and spin and secrecy and denial was shot to hell. This wikileaks is just ho-hum. Yes it's reasssuring to see there's some pretty accurate assessments floating around, but being that they're commenting upon public figures by and large, it's nothing new or radical or secret. That said the Mervyn King ones were interesting and may have some serious ramifications.
---and in other news Mike Huckabee says the leakers should be executed!
(oh dear)

The U.S. government, apparently aided by freelance computer hackers, chased WikiLeaks from an American commercial computer network and temporarily stopped the leak of embarrassing diplomatic documents. But within hours, the website was back online, publishing from a fortified bunker in Sweden.

He thinks that any Palestinian 'state' "must be demilitarised, without control of its airspace and electro-magnetic field [sic], and without the power to enter into treaties or control its border". So, yeah. Not so much a state. Of course, the Israeli state won't be demilitarised. www.independent.co.uk/opinion/commentators/fisk/robert-fisk-now-we-know-america-really-doesnt-care-about-injustice-in-the-middle-east-2146971.htmlI'm glad you agree with what you quoted me as saying. I honestly interpreted your post as supporting mine. Please write clearer. In any case- the US government had a choice between endagering lives OMG! and definately leaking all the people's names and such, or maybe leaking all those names and such. They chose the former.
