The sun, rather than the son, is the reason for the season.
Burn a Yule log to aid the ailing sun, and also because Thor and Odin like the smell of burning fir.

Sun really isn't the reason for the season. It's the axial tilt of the Earth's rotation.

We're closer to the sun right now than we are in July.
And it's winter in the hemisphere that matters, Mant. Because Amurka is in this hemisphere.

Longer days, how I'm looking forward to that. Odin et al. will have to be content with the smell of burning oak though.

Fuck yeah, the solstice.
Enjoy the longest/shortest day, adjust as appropriate for your hemisphere.

Yay for the Solstice~!
I'd burn a yule log outside if I could find one but I think the neighbors would report me.

It's cold as balls in here. Maybe I should burn a yule log.
Oh wait, I don't have a fireplace in my room and I don't feel like going downstairs.
Anyway, merry solstice, everyone.

Merry Solstice. I'm feeling better for it too. The eclipse was epic. All I gotta say.
