Back in the immediate post-Columbine era, I remember seeing a political cartoon showing a Frankenstein-ish kid on a gurney and a mad scientist representing the video game industry saying "I can create monsters if I want! It's my 1st Amendment right!"
That cartoon disgusted me then and still does, but I'd like to see a rendition of the same cartoon with Jared Loughner as Frankenstein (he already looks the part) and Palin as the mad scientist. Because as I think we all know, there's a difference between creating violent images for entertainment and art purposes and putting targets on your political opponents and constantly using rhetoric designed to whip up violent hatred against at least half the people in the country.

I could give it a shot, I did a few George W. Bush cartoons on my dA. If you can get me the original cartoon you're thinking of and a photo of Jared Loughner (I don't know who he is).

Google image Jared Loughner, but be prepared to be extremely creeped out (he's the Tucson shooter). No luck finding the original so far, though.

That one they played endlessly on CNN right after they shaved his head I had to change the channel whenever it came up, or look away. It's the eyes, the EYES were crazy. I think they have him on something now cause the eyes look less crazy.

"Frankenstein was the creator - not the monster. It's a common misconception, held by all truly stupid people. " - Kryten, Red Dwarf (It's a joke! I'm not saying you're stupid!)

Don't people realize that video games have ratings?

I always thought Frankenstein was the monster. Just not the creation. To be fair if I remember the monster was equally batshit. He was kind of like one of those Chick Tracts the kind that are like "Oh why are you here?" "Because I fapped in college, if only I had known. And you'll come here as well!" I just remember something from high school where the monster was talking to the girl and answered a question of hers like that but I forget the actual line. I just remember it kinda pissed me off even then lmao.

I saw someone on another board say they didn't agree with Jack Thompson, but that maybe some games are murder simulators. He then posted a youtube video of the new Mortal Kombat game. Specifically a fatality where Kung Lao sticks his iconic bladed hat into the ground and spins it like a saw blade, then drags his opponent through it. He was dead serious.

Thanks whoever found the original cartoon. Again, I can't tell you how much that thing disgusted me, especially because the same conservative dumbsh!ts who believe it think the 1st Amendment protects Ann Coulter's right to call for the mass murder of liberals. Forget about Palin creating a hit list of Democrats she doesn't like, Sonic and Mario are corrupting our kids! Oh, and Terrance and Phillip too! Hopefully there are some talented artists here who can change that cartoon around to what I suggested.

In regards to Jack Thompson, one of my lecturers at Uni did say that Jack Thompson has apparently been a good thing for the game industry, since he's gotten them a lot of free publicity and won very little in regards to law suits against any games.
One might think Jack Thompson may in fact be a very deep cover video game advocate.
