Simply put, a student attending UCLA posted a video on YouTube titled "Asians in the Library" where she goes on a racist rant. The article and video are here (scroll down for the video). And now she's receiving some lovely death threats. She deleted the video, but that'll do no good, as we all know. There's a million parodies out there already. She's just a moron, plain and simple. What the hell did she think was going to happen? Also, I wasn't sure where to stick the thread. Please move it if necessary.

Do I pity her or have any form of empathy? No. Are death threats a reasonable response? No.

I hardly see death threats from Youtube commenters as something to get worked up about. I've received oodles of the delightful little buggers and yet I'm still alive and well.

As much as she's an idiot, the people harassing her are even stupider.

I say this video floating around on FB but I haven't watched it yet. This racist girl and the people sending death threats all needs to be hit with a clue-by-four.

Though I disagree with what you say, I will defend to the death your right to say it.

Daaaamn, she's quite the looker.
Seriously though, her complains are totally legitimate, she shouldn't have phrased it in a causally-racist way. I can't speak for other Asian countries out there, but mainland Chinese on the whole are probably some of the most boorish, unetiquetted people on the planet.

Says someone, who obviously isn't using the internet that the normal mainland Chinese have to deal with... Normal internet around there wouldn't allow you to get in to these boards (same goes for youtube, FB and ... basicly everything) you know. Naughty you. And now to the embarrassing part... I kind of have to agree with this troll here. They (Chinese in this case) seem really, really, really rude people to someone, who comes from different culture. BUT on the other hand (as a someone, who's finally getting over their exhange experience) I bet that you (yes, still talking to this troll here) can also be seen as rude, uneducated in etiquet and all that shit, in most of the places on this planet even if you're putting up your best behaviour and acting the way that would make your mother proud back at home.

Proboards are actually de-censored recently. Not that it matters though, I do know how to use a proxy, you see. I get your point about cultural difference and w/e, but still, talking aloud (on the phone) in a library is probably something frowned upon universally.

It's naughty, breaking the local laws you see And yes, it's something that everyone hates, Loud Teens (and loud everyone) talking(on their cell phones) in library. It happens everywhere and that is something, that not only Asian people are quilty of. I'm just wondering why, if you actually do your studying at the library and are supposed to do so, the rules aren't enforced by someone? Aren't there any librarians around? Aren't there enough disapproving looks and meaningfull sighs by other studying teens?

I don't mean to sound like a bleeding heart, but I just don't see it. At my uni the Asians are almost always quiet in lectures or the library, and they're mostly the only ones who aren't piss drunk by 9am on days like Oktoberfest or Foundation Day.
