I wasn't sure where else to put this, but I am a part of a Christian internet schooling program. I wanted to show people what the curriculum is like, and give them a taste for just what many kids are learning through these things. If the thread is in the wrong place, or if I'm just being annoying, I give my deepest apologies. This is a science lesson from last year, for anyone interested. Attachments:

This is utter bullshit. It doesn't even try to teach anything other than "The evil scientists are corrupting your BRAINS!!!!!11!1!!eleven!!!11!!one"

My computer can't open that file type. May I request a summary of the more important points?

You should be able to open it with Internet Explorer...Hmm...
Either way, most of the lesson is about how Creationism is correct and any science done by evolutionary science is based on their presuppositions about evolutionary science. There's even a graphic which I posted in another thread that shows this "fact".

Never mind, I got it.
Seems to contain nothing but unsupported statements that scientific explanations for the origins of the universe contradict known scientific principles. No explanation at all for what said principles are or why universe-origin theories violate them.

No explanation at all for what said principles are or why universe-origin theories violate them. That's about all my school does, really. They glaze over facts and 9 times out of 10, most of them end with some Christian slant that comes out of nowhere. I'm going to repeat that, because it bears repeating. This is my education.

Well, you seem incredibly skeptical of that slant at your school...
... and that's a good thing, here! Questioning what you're told, when you have your own ideas, always a good thing. Everything has a bias, after all. We settle on established fact and aren't afraid to listen to new, substantiated evidence.

Oh, there's a quiz at the bottom. And just because I'm a bad boy, I've included the answers. Note: Question #8 is multiple-choice. The two highlighted...ones are the "correct" answers. Question #1
A subjective idea which is not based on fact or established principles is called a(n) supposition. | Question #2
Every scientist starts his research with his individual presuppositions, meaning his existing knowledge and preconceived ideas about the universe. | Question #3
All experimental data will be passed through the filter of preconceived ideas. | Question #4
Meteoroids sometimes enter the Earth's atmosphere.
True | Question #5
The starting assumptions will always affect the interpretation of data.
True | Question #6
Complete the following starting assumption of evolutionary-oriented astronomers. The universe came into being by random, mechanical processes. | Question #7
Many professional scientists believe the universe was created.
True | Question #8
The starting assumptions of creation scientists are:
- The universe could not have assembled itself.
- The universe is a product of an intelligent Creator.
- The formation of the universe involved random processes.
- Their starting assumptions are based on the Bible.
| Question #9
The starting assumptions of creation scientists are based on science.
False | Question #10
The starting assumptions of evolutionary scientists are based on established scientific principles.
False | Question #11
Astronomers have verified scientific laws which explain the origin of matter and energy.
False | Question #12
No physical processes have ever been demonstrated which provide a mechanism for the universe to assemble itself.
True | Question #13
Only one galaxy is in the universe.
False | Question #14
Theories which propose an evolutionary mechanistic origin of the universe actually contradict the established laws of physics and chemistry. |
You have any idea how much HTML hell I had to go through for this post?

I disagree with most of what the school teaches, really...I mostly just find it hilarious. For example, this is from last year's health class. I say it's health class. I mean indoctrination. Attachments:

So they gave up on trying to prove they don't use preconceived notions as proof, & now just assert that everyone does?

So they gave up on trying to prove they don't use preconceived notions as proof, & now just assert that everyone does? Pretty much, except theirs are right, because the Bible says so. I have to be off for now, I'll try to be on tomorrow and give you more, if you want. I have some stuff from this year as well as a bunch from Health Class and History last year if anyone wants to see it.

Internet Explorer opens XPS files. It's annoying, but I can't figure out how to save the webpages any other way.

I'm honestly a bit worried that any diploma you receive from this "school" won't be worth anything.
For your sake, I really hope I'm wrong.

(My apologies if this is a low blow) Love your imaginary friend first, love his evil creations last, and love yourself, you selfish bastard you, never. This one also have a quiz...don't make me do the tables again T_T
