Some of you probably already know, but I'm earning my BA in Computer Science and I'm so close to finishing I can taste it.
I have 6 major hours to go, which I can complete in the Summer (May-August) quarter. I have 18 elective hours to go.
Naturally, being a person whose dominant virtues include stinginess and impatience, I want to complete my degree as fast as possible with minimal cost. My university allows me to take CLEP tests to earn credit for general education; each Clep test costs $100 each ($30 registration, $70 to take) and is worth 6 credit hours. Mind you, these tests are hard.
So, I have an even 18 hours, my plan here is to take 3 CLEP tests each Saturday for 3 weeks, then I'll be finished my general education and electives. Total cost to me: $300. Hellz yeah, 18 credit hours for $300, you can't get a deal like that even from a degree mill.
I just passed my first CLEP today for 6 credit hours. I'm scheduled another next week, and the final one the week after. Life is sweet.

Congrats, it looks like I'm repeating my one course I took this semester (yep, only one course and I'm failing it).
What's a CLEP?

Bon chance! I have really no idea what a CLEP(tomania, sorry) test is about, but I'm sure you'll win them easily, being all sorts of clever and such.

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/College_Level_Examination_Program is what wiki told me about what CLEP means. As I neared graduation last year, I applied to graduate in absentia (not going to the fancy party, just getting my testamur (certificate!) in the mail). When the results were posted, I looked and saw that I finished it successfully. I waited and waited for my testamur to come...and didn't receive it. I rang up several months later to ask why. It said that I didn't finish everything. I told them that I did. They sent me through to another person, who saw that I had the right number of credit points and did the right subjects and had paid all the money. She said that someone must have made a mistake when putting in the information about who has graduated. She said they'd send off the testamur. That was two months ago and I'm still waiting. She said that I might have to send an email to the department responsible for graduations, as a reminder. Ugh. It's not a bad university, either (one of the best in the country).

It took me 5 months after graduation to get my diploma to me (I too skipped the fancy party). Two months after graduating they informed me that it was being held until I payed a $19 Wall Street Journal fee (another rant for another day) that they forgot to charge me. Then it took another 3 months for some untold reason. And the mail carrier bent the envelope that was covered with "DO NOT BEND." I think the lesson is that people hate party skippers.
