Gingrich's aides desert en masse.
Bachmann wants to be president.
Pawlenty is a Reagan clone. I know this because I live in Minnesota, and Pawlenty was my guv for 8 years.
Santorum is a puppet to the Religious Right.
The one who looks most promising is Mitt Romney. Yes, he's a mormon, but so is Harry Reid! Right now I wouldn't mind Skyfire waxing poetic about Romney. But if he came back, he would probably denounce Romney for Obamneycare and the fact that Romney believes in manmade climate change.

I want to page our resident (old school) republican.
Shane, does Romney seem like a republican you could support? Would you return to the GOP for Romney?

Maybe Romney really is a twit, and just looks good against the backdrop of other GOP puppets.
Oh I forgot to mention Ron Paul, another fake maverick. I've seen progressives go for him, but he's really just another republican.
Romney is the one who looks really different from the other republicans. Some things got done in Massachusetts under him, probably because he wasn't a veto-happy Reagan worshipper like Pawlenty.

Can we fire them all and start from scratch? Why can't that be an option?
Besides our corporate overlords forbidding it, that is.

Wait, Satorum is actually running?? When did this happen?!
And I'm actually against Romney running. Because he, of all the candidates, could actually get votes, and I want a goddamn Democrat in the White House. A Republican president and a Republican majority in the House? We're doomed.

I'm hoping for Cain. He's the only one who is for Fairtax. Everything else he says, I think is his just trying to say what the Right wants to hear.
It's gotta mean something when both MSNBC and Fox seem to hate him.

Isn't telling your side what they want to hear the whole point of primaries? That, followed by shifting towards the politcal "center" after securing nomination?

It's gotta mean something when both MSNBC and Fox seem to hate him. Let's see, he is also pro-life, calls homosexuality a life choice, he wants to weaken the department of education, wants to repeal health care reform, says he wouldn't appoint a Muslim for fear of Sharia Law, wants the moronic gold standard, wants to dismantle welfare, and has called Social Security a scam. Yeah, all the Republicans have to offer is fail.

This is sexy to the naive and gullible. Romney's utter crap. Never been a fan. But his capacity to say one thing and do another, often so far as to disavow his own actions is relatively appealing to a lot. Plus, being a sociopath is appealing to GOP leadership.

It's gotta mean something when both MSNBC and Fox seem to hate him. Means he's shit. Both parties are incapable of performing the basic requirements for continued US political effectiveness. The US political system does not work and cannot work until both parties are either reformed or destroyed by new parties. The Republicans cannot write good policy. The Democrats cannot (will not?) pass good policy. Both are broken.
