I write fanfiction. I started writing terrible Inuyasha fanfiction back in grade school. Now I mostly write slash. Or crack fics. Sometimes a combination of both. I also write original stuff, but that feels more like actual work to me than a hobby, so I don't do so much of that.

I like writing slashfics of my and my best friend's OCs. Is that weird?

I did that a few times. Although since the characters were all female is it still a slashfic or is there a different name?

What do you figure Eragon is fanfic of?
I just thought it was fairly fill-in-the-blanks rite de passage young adult stuff.

Ironically, I did not write any fan fiction (Harry Potter) until I had been published in my own right.
I used to coach young writers, fan fiction being an admirable way to get the fledgling writer started i.e. using established characters and scenarios before attempting to invent their own.
I must admit, there is some terrible, terrible, terrible fan fiction out there... I'm never too critical, though, as I would not want to stifle that small flickering flame of creativity.
Having said that - I do wish people would stop abusing the humble apostrophe!

During a bout of self-depreciation the author the the fanfic I linked to on the previous page said this one was good and the readers of his should read it instead. I'm in the midst of reading the eighth chapter and good god is it awful. Even by fanfiction standards. I want to stop, but I keep hoping it might be actually stop sucking.

All the fanfics I've ever written have been based on Pokemon. My first one, I won't even admit to having written. It was just so god-awful, and I have no idea what the young me was thinking back then.
After that, I wrote a six-chapter story about Ash and Gary. It suffers from a lot of problems, but I was young and stupid back then.
And then there's a fic I've all but given up on finishing. I just don't have the motivation to revisit it, especially since to do so now would basically require rewriting the entire thing from scratch before I could continue.
And lastly, there's a fairly short one-shot I wrote about Dawn and Zoey. I'm actually fairly proud of it, and it even spawned a wonderful piece of art--my avatar pic is a scene ripped right out of that story. I still don't know to this day who drew it, though.
I really want to do another fic starring the girls, and I have ideas, but... depression had left me with a serious case of writer's block. The words refuse to go from my head to the page in a way I find satisfying. It's really frustrating.

I did a bunch of ff over the years, mostly for fun. About 10 years ago, my friend and I did our own Pokemon series with characters based on us. He'd write a story from his perspective, then I'd write the next one from mine. We never meant it to be taken sriously; it was just all good fun. The funny thing is we can still quote several lines of dialog, word-for-word.
Several years ago, I did a Star Wars one that was an alternate to Ep 3. Basically, Mace killed Sidious, but at the last moment, Sid put a suggestion in Anakin's head. Anakin, thinking he was recalling all clones, called for Order 66.
With no more main villain, I created a powerful clone leader named Blade, and had him trying to restore order. It got pretty dark at one point with a huge kill list before the heroes even escaped Coruscaunt; Anakin, Mace, Bail, Jar Jar, Mon Mothma, and several Jedi. I never did finish it, but it had gotten a lot of positive attention at the time.
I've also done a few . . . . adult stories that will NEVER be seen by anyone other than my fiancee and myself!

Ew. Ew ew ew ew ew ew ew ew ew ew ew. Did I mention EW? (And no, that's a response to the genre itself, not slashfics, Mary Sues, and the inevitable bad characterisation)

I haven't written any, but I'm really thinking about doing so. I read it ever so often(mostly My Little Pony & Jem, so please don't laugh), I've found out that I tend to like the really dark & disturbing ones, a plus if it involves some sex, and the main villian, Eric Raymond, taking hostages & going batshit insane(the Jem ones)....YEAH!!! And yes, If anyone is wondering I have read the infamous MLP one "Cupcakes" and I loved it, I know I have problems.

I used to be really into Harry Potter fanfiction, back in high school. I wrote two chapters of a story and gave up. I was more into reading it than writing it.
In ninth grade, a friend of mine and I wrote a tag-team Alias fanfic. That was pretty fun.
