Okay, I've been hacking at this for days now, and I've still not found what I need to get this shit to work.
Basically, what I'm trying to do is use VLC Media Player to stream media from one PC to another over the internet.
I've tried everything I can think of, and tried about 5 different tutorials after searching through about a dozen pages of Google results and turned up with nada.
We're both behind routers, so we're using Hamachi as a pass-thru. It works for everything else, why not this?
If anyone has an answer, preferably with an example, I'd be much obliged... I'm just trying to watch a movie with a friend, and VLC seems to be trying to infuriate me as much as humanly possible at every turn.

Well, if you want kind of a ghetto fix to it, you could get Manycam and have it stream your desktop.

But would it stream audio, too?

It DOES... I'm not sure exactly HOW, but I know I've had it stream the audio directly off the computer. It was in the windows audio settings. Failing that it'll pick it up from a microphone.
