Well, I figured we should restart this thread after, what 2 years since the last one?
Anyway, I've decided to marathon Neon Genesis Evangelion, the whole thing, with the possible exception of the last 2 episodes and death and rebirth, which from what i hear is pointless.

End of Evangelion was rumored to be a giant middle finger to those who didn't like the tv ending.
The evageeks wiki would have more information.

I've heard that, hopefully they should cheer me up after End, which from what i hear is both insanely depressive and a massive mindfuck.

I was wondering, you know how in later episodes, the Seele council thing is just made up of black rectangles that say audio only? do they ever give an in universe reason for that? or is it just because of budget issues?

Probably budget issues. Or just to keep them mysterious and vague.

It's a metaphor.

Probably budget issues. Or just to keep them mysterious and vague. But they showed them before didn't they? or was the color coded council something else?

I remember Keel Lorenz being shown, but that's about it.
Of course he was SEELE's number one.

I'm pretty sure they showed them all, maybe not in close-up but at least in that overhead shot that they always used whenever Seele was confronting Gendo.

Well, I just finished episode 26 and am still very confused, though not as traumatized as i was the first time around.
Oh well, hopefully End of Eva can clear things up.
