blogs.villagevoice.com/runninscared/2011/09/scientology_gam.phpAll indicators show that the Church of Scientology is about to get a judgement against them courtesy of Australia, due to not paying minimum wage to their employees. A judgement that would require them to pony up millions in backpay and taxes for said backpay. Supposedly, the move could well bankrupt them. Somehow, I don't feel any sympathy towards the CoS. I do want to see other countries follow suit.

I still think Germany had the right idea in banning them - German Federal law states that for any group to disseminate its ideas, it must publish them for everyone to see. Because the Church of Clappology wouldn't do that without making people pay, the Germans banned them outright.

I'm sure Australia did ban CoS in the 70s, then it was lifted later on for some reason.
But it's still great news, nonetheless.

Their legal status is not definite, but Scientology members are banned from public service in several states (the slip I had to sign about not being affilated with anti-constitutional organisations had an entire section about Scientology, right next to the Neonazis and Islamists), and the Church is under heavy observation by the Verfassungsschutz.

Were they banned a few years ago? I remember Tom "Hasn't done a good film in 10 years "Cruise protesting about Happyology not being allowed into Germany or something.

I was actually kinda hoping for a literal burn, like burning the building down.
But then, it's not because of scientology, it's because I like watching things burn.
That being said, considering this is Australia, literally burning the building could result in a nation-wide blaze.
