It seems just after starting my wilderness mansion I fell in a lava flow and lost all my stuff. Fuck.
Ah well, I might wander back on once 1.8 is out.

Wow, that's some pretty good design there Jodie. If you ever buy the beta I'd like to see you on the server.

Minecraft sounds cool (at least the building mode is, to me), and I'd probably buy it if I knew more about it (and when I could afford it). Do I need to know programming of any kind?

The only thing you'd really want to know is the basics of electrical engineering, and that's only if you plan on playing around with redstone. And even then, there's redstone tutorials on youtube that'll take you through, step by step, how to create basic circuits to do what you want.

The basics of electrical engineering??? Yeah that sounds easy! >_>

Actually it's pretty straightforward, but anyway it's totally optional. Some fun stuff involves it, but there is plenty of fun stuff that doesn't have anything to do with it.
One guy actually built a very simple computer with it though!

The basics of electrical engineering??? Yeah that sounds easy! >_> It is though, because it's pretty simplified for the most part. You connect a bunch of redstone to a power source and every 13 blocks or so you need a repeater to keep the power flowing or it dies out, and there's some logic gates to memorize too. Now, some of the logic gates can get VERY hairy, but to make something pretty simple in redstone isn't very hard. But it's entirely optional anyways.

I love messing about with redstone. My current SSP world has a house where im just testing out mad designs. Especially having fun messing about with programmable memory cells made out of redstone torches atm.

My dad let me hijack his Minecraft account, so I have the game now! I may join you guys once I'm more familiar with it.

Someone wanna buy me Minecraft? If I had the scratch, I'd join. I loooooove building shit.
I'm also somewhat good at it. I've built a few custom houses in UO, along with more non-standard buildings out of the building blocks the game gives you and Pandora's Box. I bet its a LOT more difficult than Minecraft is...getting things juuuuuuuuust right is a bit of a pain in terms of messing with coordinates and nudging using admin commands.
