This is an old story, from 2008, but it's still hilarious and I wanted to share it. community.feministing.com/2008/07/15/anti-feminism_on_a_pre-teen_ho/Howrse is an online game that lets you raise and breed virtual horses. I've played it for a few years, and found it's pretty fun. Well, one game option was that you could give your mare an abortion if you accidentally bred her with the wrong stallion, or for whatever reason. Well, fundies didn't like their kids playing that game, so they asked Howrse to remove the option, which according to this blog, Howrse did. So, in this game, you must pay to have a vet deliver the foal or the foal and possibly the mother will die. Many kids on the Howrse forums were upset because their horses were dying. They had no money for the vet bills. And fundies were okay with this. I've played the game since 2008, and I remember having the option to terminate a mare's pregnancy, so maybe they brought the option back. Anyway, fundies are okay with that idea. The mother and baby dies, but at least there was no abortion! To quite the blog: "This world view is so powerful to many people, that they get offended by a pixelated horse character on an internet forum getting an abortion. We agree that this is insane."

again, they would rather the mother and kid die then a clump of cells. but hey, pro-choice people are the irrational ones. whatever...fundies don't live in reality.

They realize here that all they're teaching kids is that it's way more heartbreaking not to even have the option available? That early action and prevention are much better than the death of their beloved virtual pets?

It's quite possibly the best "Fuck you" response one can come up with.

The players will be mortified until they get the option back.

I used to think "it doesn't matter if the mother dies" was a hyperbole. Now I do not.

I used to think "it doesn't matter if the mother dies" was a hyperbole. Now I do not. I remember a RR quote that was something like, "Abortion is never okay. It's for God to decide. If the mother is to die in childbirth, well then, she'll die in childbirth." RR, 100% pro-life, if they have to allow a million women to die to prove it!

Clearly, these people do not like to...

...horse around. You may now commence the throwing of tomatoes and beer bottles. And aborted children/horses.
