Just finished book 12 of The Dresden Files. I have to wait until JULY for book 13 to be released for my Nook. Bastards. Lucky you. My library won't let me reserve Turn Coat, so I'm sitting here with Side Jobs...I want to read them in order!! ;.;

Machine Love Disease would make a great band name. It would be J-rock, naturally.

Nah, it was the city, Hell, in Arizona. They were doing a promotion. Hell is in Michigan. No, Hell is in Norway. Personally, I'm more curious about Dildo, Newfoundland. Is it as debauched as the name would lead you to believe?

"One AND the same," not "one in the same."
"Accept" = receive, tolerate, etc.
"Except" = to make an exception of, with the exception of
"The exception proves the rule" only if you use the archaic definiton of "prove" as "to test."

At least you're too young to remember Dead Leaves. Japanese movies don't have to be live-action to suck. I'm aware of that. Blood: The Last Vampire for example. I may have heard of Dead Leaves. Or that was House of Leaves. Leaves were in the title. Dead Leaves tricks you by looking sort of cool for the first 15 minutes. Then they get sent to prison on the moon, and the movie abruptly stops making any goddamned sense. The trailer somehow manages to make even less sense. NSFW, or sanity. To answer te questions that will inevitably arise: 1. Prisoners are encased in cocoon-like sheath, with a tiny hole for exceeding wastes. Yes, Pandy and Retro figured out how to have sex under those conditions. 2. That man does in fact have a drill for a penis. The logistics of that are not worth contemplating. 3. I have no idea how I sat through 2 hours of this tripe either. 4. No, this isn't any more intelligible in English. I know, I watched the damn thing and I'm still scratching my head over it.

Luxury taxes on stuff only rich people buy, like yachts, jewelry above a certain price, homes above a certain square-footage...

Now that I know the ages that is even more fucking creepy! I cannot believe it is still legal to marry at under 18! Dad seems even creepier now. Technically, age limits are only for marriage "without parental consent," which means you could be trapped in an arranged marriage at 5 if your parents want that for you. Lowest age limit in U.S. for marriage without parental consent? 14 (Mississippi). This is the reason why fundies hate those anti-child-bride laws. If they marry their daughters off as kids, they still have control over them and can make sure they like their new sons-in-law. Because marriage is not about love or commitment, or even having children--marriage is about making sure your daughter only has sex with ONE person in her entire life, even if you have to marry her off at puberty to do it. ...that last paragraph made me feel filthy just typing it.

No more live action movies based off an anime series. That's more of a whatever the Japanese equivalent to Hollywood is, but damn it, that five minutes of the first Death Note movie were horrible and I will never get them back. At first I was excited about a live action Akira movie, but as time goes on and hearing that it'll take place in New York instead of Neo Tokyo, I feel my hope rapidly declining. At least you're too young to remember Dead Leaves. Japanese movies don't have to be live-action to suck.
