-Gasp- those fiends! This is the first I'm hearing of this outrage!
...Nah, really. This is just Tuesday. (Made worse ironically by the fact that it actually IS Tuesday...)

What will it take to see that there is an actual stink raised over this? Even if they get away without any real punishment, they should at least feel a bit of social scorn.

I almost wonder if this is the real "terrorist" plot to take over and destroy America.
Only the ringleaders aren't Arabic Muslims, they're White Christians. And causing unrest, confrontation, and chaos instead of direct terror.

-Gasp- those fiends! This is the first I'm hearing of this outrage! ...Nah, really. This is just Tuesday. (Made worse ironically by the fact that it actually IS Tuesday...) Indeed. It is taking a serious amount of willpower on my part to summon the tiniest bit of actual outrage at this. And that is terrible. I almost wonder if this is the real "terrorist" plot to take over and destroy America. It is.

Oh joy.
I am outraged, though. Not just because they're traitors, I've known that before I knew they were literally traitors. No, I'm outraged at how they're practically impossible to touch.
If they're not in shackles and their corporation frozen, then America is too far gone. And the sad thing is, that's what I'm expecting is going to happen - they won't even receive so much as a slap on the wrist.

Treason against the United States, shall consist only in levying War against them, or in adhering to their Enemies, giving them Aid and Comfort. No Person shall be convicted of Treason unless on the Testimony of two Witnesses to the same overt Act, or on Confession in open Court.
The Congress shall have Power to declare the Punishment of Treason, but no Attainder of Treason shall work Corruption of Blood, or Forfeiture except during the Life of the Person attainted. (From the Constitution of the United State of America, Article 3 Section 3) I am not sure that they did anything that actually counts as treason. We're not necessarily friendly with Iranians, but are they technically an enemy? And is engaging in commerce the same thing as giving an enemy aid and comfort? The answer to both of these has to be an unequivocal "yes" or I don't think it can qualify.

Fairly sure the money would count as "aid" in "aid and comfort", and we're not friendly with Iran, though I don't know how we stand officially.

...I can't help but smile at the bitter irony that the "Koch Method" basically consists of acting like what the name Koch sounds like.

It's not that I'm not outraged, it's just that it's so par for the course and like any other usual day.. plus the fact that nothing will happen due to the Koch's apparantly having some really good plot armor (read: lots of cash) it's like "meh, what's for lunch?" I'm outraged, it'll just not do me any good to be outraged. Plus, when I get pissed at things like this people usually go "This is why you didn't turn in your homework?" and "Your face is red" and "holy shit I think he's going to spontaneously combust" and the really unlucky ones usually scream Kurt Russel's final lines from the Imagination trillogy

My prediction: they'll get away with it as long as it fits current Republican agenda (making the situation worse for the US, then blaming it on Obama and Democrats).
Of course they'll be called patriots by GOP supporters because GOP lately redefined "patriotism" as "supporting Republicans no matter what". They consider logic and facts* as "unchristian" and "unamerican". As why they still manage to live somewhat normally, see "compartmentalisation".
* Although most simply don't know anything else than what their preacher and Fox News say.

Wouldn't be the first time the US was involved with Iran.
