...Yes, because a generalization is really all about you, & not an argument about people in general.
Makes. Perfect. Fucking. Sense.

I tried being reasonable. You all saw it.

I tried being reasonable. You all saw it. I'm at a complete loss as to why people are taking such issue with anything I said in this thread.

Ongoing pattern here, LHM makes some global statement about X, gets jumped on by the entire board and then spends the next 10+ posts denying that he made global statement about X to begin with.
Whatever!

Right, because everyone agrees with you 100% of the time *rolls eyes* if you go back, you might see that actually, this whol;e thing started when I posted a simple comment AGREEING WITH SOMEONE ELSE.

I merely offered my own, personal experience, and was attacked for it. No. What people disagree with you is almost entirely your projection of your personal experience onto those of specific posters. Namely those of Vene and myself. Why else would you claim to not believe our accounts our more-responsible-than-average high school days? To a lesser extent, you seemed to suggest that your experience was typical without considering the possibility that you yourself may have been more irresponsible than average. I do not have the data to back it up, but I would be quite surprised if the average high school student pulls mostly Ds and Fs, even discounting the phenomenon of grade inflation. No one here has taken offense at the suggestion that teenagers are less responsible than adults in general. You just have to accept that on the bell curve of teenage responsibility, Vene and I were at one end, you were at another, and none of us were particularly close to the center.

Not claiming my experience was typical. Although certainly not uncommon. But yep... pretty confident about you and Vene being less responsible and more prone to doing stupid stuff when you were teenagers. I have encountered a very, very small numbers of people who were exceptionally disciplined and forward thinking as teenagers, but they are an exceptionally small group. It is possible you or Vene are amongst them, but I kinda doubt it.

So, really, the whole thing began when YOU attacked others' experiences.
Funny, that.

It is possible you or Vene are amongst them, but I kinda doubt it. So you are just calling us liars, then? Well, there’s no arguing with that, since I apparently have zero credibility anyways. So I won’t.

But yep... pretty confident about you and Vene being less responsible and more prone to doing stupid stuff when you were teenagers. I already said that I never made such a claim. I only said that I saw members of the female sex as people instead of as distractions, which you disputed and then you quickly changed the subject after being called out for it. This is a matter of sexism, not responsibility. And, believe it or not, I could have easily been a responsible teenager and be even moreso today. I've already made a post with some of my academic and work history from when I was a teenager and I would have to call it responsible. There's a reason I only bothered to apply for a single college, because I did the responsible thing and worked hard for stellar academic record. ETA: Not to mention you claiming you're just speaking generalities, which you are then attempting to apply towards individuals, which is kind of a no-no.
