No, I don't require the president to know everything. I do, however, require them to not sound like a High School sophomore bitching about their geography class.

"Small and insignificant"? Uzbekistan is in the top half of the world's countries by GDP. It's also a decent sized oil and natural gas exporter. Just thought I'd point that out, Herman.

1.) Someone that thinks it is important for the President of the United States to know who the President of Uzbekistan is probably does know the name of the President of Uzbekistan. So the short answer is “Yes, I do know.” 2.) The President of Uzbekistan is Islam Karimov. 3.) Knowing the President of Uzbekistan’s name does not deal with domestic unemployment. But the President of the United State’s job is a lot more than just dealing with unemployment. Among other things, it includes acting as Chief Diplomat, which means one has to be familiar with and ready to deal with other countries, their leaders, and their cultures. 4.) It is unseemly for a diplomat, particularly the Chief Diplomat to intentionally mangle the name of the countries he may be engaging in diplomatic relations. 5.) It is likewise unseemly for a diplomat to dismiss to said country as “Insignificant” even if the country is not currently a concern. You never know when the “insignificant” will suddenly demand attention. I am under the impression that Vietnam and Afghanistan seemed pretty insignificant to the majority of the American people until they wound up at war with them. Sure would help to have folks in leadership positions that knew something about those countries from the get-go rather than having to take a few days doing the research, I think. 6.) Two minutes of research indicates to me that Uzbekistan is likely quite significant to U.S. foreign policy interests.

Finally, a president who's as ignorant as the idiots who vote for him. What was Bush Jr., then? A fucking elitist Harvard grad. Hell, Bush was a broken clock if you wanna be kind about it. This group of clowns are clocks that look at the correct time then wind 6 hours behind.

I'm getting sick of the attitude 'respect = politically correct bullshit.' These candidates and the voters who support them don't want a country that's respected, they want a country that's feared and can strong-arm and bully to get whatever it wants. Honestly seeing this kind of disrespect and then seeing people say "I'd vote for him 'cause he doesn't put up with any of that politically correct bullshit/isn't weak and doesn't bow his head to dictators" just comes off to me as "We're entitled to the world's respect, and they should be grateful for the chance to kiss our feet and be damn grateful that we don't toss a nuke in their general direction."

And then if another country complains about us not respecting them, they’ll be the first to say, “Respect is a Two-way street”.
