And when none of them win and Obama starts his second term they'll all forget that part in Romans about leaders being ordained by god when they're in charge I brought up the Romans verse to some crazies on Rapture Ready who were whining about Obama. I received several responses that mostly boiled down to: "So? What is your point?" Then they proceeded to whine about unemployment, as if their problem with the unemployment rate somehow trumps the Holy Babble. I responded that they shouldn't ignore the Babble based on their existing political ideologies, and was quickly banned. Not surprising.

Yes, don't ever point out a Raptard wrong with their own rule book, you'll be banned for not walking lockstep with them. I've brought that verse from Romans up a lot with tea partiers and Republicans and gotten basically the same responses. Either the one you got or "Well this isn't the same." Hence why I hate religion even being mentioned when it comes to elections. Who the fuck cares which one they are, you'll all pick and choose what part of your religion you want to support or denounce even if the candidates are the exact same or completely different from you.

OK, so far God has called the following people to run for president: Herman CainMichele Bachmanand Rick Perry through Anita. And two of them have made references to Exodus. I'm wondering two things: 1) why does anyone believe this dumbfuckery, and 2) what do the fundies make of this? Do they think that God called all of them? That two are liars? What? That is exactly what so many leaders or politicians have done in the past: to claim that their rule, their will, plan leadership, revolution, war or whatever they did was actually god's will. The Egyptian pharaohs portrayed themselves standing hand in hand with the deities. Or being blessed by the sun deity (light rays with hands). All the kings - and lower nobility - claimed to rule with god's blessing. At every crowning there were bisshops, priests. The confederates claimed to act in accord of god's will. Franco was cleansing Spain of the "red peril" by the will of god. And let us mention he Gott mit uns inscription on the belt of the SS.

The thing about the Romans verse is that Paul was actively breaking Roman law and defying Roman authority by writing it, so it probably doesn't mean what we think it means. Or it was some kind of forgery.
