Ned Flanders Bob Larsen interviews the "first family of Satanism" - Anton LaVey's children. Flanders says that Satanists are trying to seduce children. The Satanists make some perfectly good points. I like many aspects of LaVeyan Satanism, but I sometimes find it a little showy. Also, Mansfield wasn't decapitated. For a guy who claims to be "finding the facts", Flanders does very little fact-checking of his own. Granted, it was an urban legend that the interviewees appeared to believe as well. Having watched that its reinforced my position that I would rather be unaffiliated. Agreed. Even though I agree with some of the basic tenets of LaVeyan Satanism, I don't see the point in calling myself a Satanist except for the purposes of trolling fundies. I just do what I think will lead me to the greatest outcome. I don't have to wrap it up in the trappings of religion or dogma because the moment I do that, I've restricted myself.

they did about 6 hrs of interviews. I used to copies of them all and wanted to write a play based on them. Lost the interviews in a computer crash and my play went nowhere fascinating listening. my fave part was when the jewish guy phoned in and was on the side of the satanist fascist rather than the christian. heh

Also, Flanders goes into full-on fundie mode in Part 9 of the interview:

I'll say this for Satanists, they have correctly identified ethical egotism as the opposite of Christianity. As a Christian I would consider self identified Christians who adopt ethically egotistic principles, especially Objectivism, to be a far more insidious threat to the faith than these folks. At least the Satanists are honest.
