The victim supposedly sat there taking this for three hours? Why? Could be that she was in such a bad way mentally before coming in that she simply didn't have the will to fight back or even walk out. People who've been repeatedly ground down often have that kind of learned helplessness, and will take any amount of abuse rather than rousing themselves.

Am I the only one that wants to give the veteran a hug and a comforting speech?

I am so glad the people at the Minneapolis VA aren't like that. The worst I've had to deal with was informing them of one of their own memos about the care of trans veterans, but since they've made aware of it there's been no issue. That's just ignorance, as opposed to malice.

That was my favourite bit. Mine too - complete intro to dsm-based psych course fail. I personally want her job after that.

How the hell does someone manage to be a nurse practitioner, and not know that homosexuality was removed from the DSM decades ago? And since when does the president have authority over it?
I find it disturbing that this woman is entrusted with people's lives.

He also invented buttered toast and single handedly won WWII.
It's true.

Well its probably like doctors... if you look REALLY hard, like under rocks, it is possible to find nurses and doctors with some very strange ideas and beliefs. I have encountered nurses who believe the whole vaccine/autism conspiracy thing, and doctors who believe flouride is a mind controlling poison. They're a tiny minority, of course, but they serve to give the rest of us a bad name.

And they ARE out there. Its always quite a shock to find one, too. They look like every body else.

They look like every body else. Or they become pseudo-doctors and go into chiropractic (not all chiropractors, I just have a beef with a particular mom-and-pop practice in Campbell)
