After hearing about all of the shit he's done, I'm saddened he was not caught sooner.

Yes, because nothing quite says "I hate spousal abuse" than threatening your husband with beating them with an iron pan. Now, if it was in self-defense, that would be one thing. Sorry, I just hate the whole "Female-on-male abuse is comedy" trope, especially with how it's applied to real life. I think if it's for the purpose of preventing the idiot from shooting at her or poking her with a cattle prod, I'd say it qualifies as self defence, or if not at the very least it's a justified use of force. In THIS case, yes. I'm talking about in general. Because "behavior modification" seems a more general purpose use and, indeed, joking about women abusing men.

Iron frying pan to side of hubby's head. This is great for modifying behavior. Yes, because nothing quite says "I hate spousal abuse" than threatening your husband with beating them with an iron pan. Hitting someone in the head with a frypan has a good chance of causing brain damage, actually.

And I'm sure we'd all be okay with a man who only slapped his girlfriend, right?
Right?
Right?

Sorry, I just hate the whole "Female-on-male abuse is comedy" trope, especially with how it's applied to real life. How come it's when a woman bashes her boyfriend's brain in with a frying pan, but it's not okay when a man slaps her? Seriously, Wykked, I like you, but you're part of the reasons that the male victims of spousal abuse have an even harder time coming forward than the female victims of spousal abuse. Female-on-male abuse actually does exist, and downplaying it makes you a complete and utter hypocrite, because you are essentially saying "It's okay for men to be abused because most abusers have a dick."

MRAs have basically ruined the ability to have an honest discourse on subjects like female on male domestic violence and rape with a male victim.

'Cept, I can find a ton of ass-crazy feminism sites. In fact, that's basically every explicitly feminist site I DO find. I've seen such ridiculous ideas as all men are rapists, you should keep your male relatives & children away from everyone else in your family, war and crime would not exist in a society run by women, all porn is misogynistic & should be boycotted, & I am Godzilla.
Okay, I made that last one up. I wanna be Godzilla!
Anyway, Zachski, I do agree with your general idea, but I think you have a habit of shoehorning it into threads, & it would probably do better if it had its own room to grow & flourish into a beautiful flower.

Addressing a post that condemns abuse while simultaneously joking about abuse in a positive manner isn't shoe-horning. However, I understand your general meaning. Alas, I don't have an article to spring-board it from, which makes me a sad face.

"Shoe horning" wasn't the optimal term, but I was trying to get the idea out quickly. Maybe something better would be "bringing up a tangental issue"?
Anyway, make a general topic thread?
Really, it shouldn't be hard to find something to spring it from. Hell, you can do it from that TV Tropes page.
