As anyone who's seen me on here will know, I'm getting married soonish. Naturally, we need a first dance song. Now me, I'm an ould Metaller, with Punk (76) leanings and a fondness for old, old Country. Herself is a gentle soul, with a deep, abiding love for Smashing Pumpkins, Pixies, and much 90's-2000 indie (that'd be UK and Ireland Indie, childer) and such things. We have both elderly, traditional families. Neither of us can dance fancy. But we want a tune people will remember, know and love.
So, here, help us with a first dance tune. I reckon The Ramones "Baby, I love You" is very much the thing and says everything, but herself reckons there's a gem on Astral Weeks we haven't yet shone to it's full brilliance. The song will be performed live, by a band of crack musicians hand-picked by my good self.
Any Idea is a good 'un. I like you folk, and value your opinion. Hit me, and I'll post the only nice photos of me ever taken (My Missus is beautiful, so that raises the average)

Nah, dude. Although 10 years together seems like it, we decided it was time to get the "piece of paper from the city", and give folks a day out in fancy hats.

I always wanted to dance to Jimi Hendrix's 51st anniversary at a wedding.
Alternatively the Stones: "You can't always get what you want"
Would throw a cat amongst the pigeons. Also great song.

Hmm, The Sundays' cover of Wild Horses? I'm guessing Tame by the Pixies wouldn't go over well with traditional family.
You know you wanna get funky to I Wanna Be Your Dog.
Couple more serious suggestions: You're Never There by Cake Red Right Ankle by The Decemberists Pictures of You, kinda played out, but still a classic.

Dear, I've gotten you mega-addicted, haven't I?
You should listen to S.J. Tucker's solo stuff, too. :3

>.> Hush, L...
Besides, I'm the only one in my family that knows how to waltz, tango and salsa, my audiophile tendencies have to go to good use somewhere...
