Yeah. A bill was recently passed to allow concealed carry. To get a permit, you had to take a special concealed carry training class. Shortly thereafter, they suspended that requirement, in favor of allowing any sort of gun training to suffice, explicitly pointing to hunter safety courses. Because, you know, rifle and shotgun hunting is totally the same as concealing a gun for self defense.

I believe this suspension was part of the special session that was supposed to be about jobs, too.

I'm one of the more Second Amendment-friendly people you're likely to find on this forum, and even I think that's bullshit. Requiring gun owners to demonstrate that they know how to handle and use their guns with at least some competence is never a bad thing.
