Kinda sucks for the employees' families, though.

Meh, with unemployment is the US as high as it is right now, I'm not surprised. These employees are easily replaced and sacking them makes the executives look like saints. They'd be stupid not to sack 'em.

I'd never thought I'd laugh at someone losing their job, but HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

It looks like the firm is shutting down for keepsies. Employee replacement is moot. Well now that's certainly unexpected. Well, the whole firm is tainted by this event. The only way to fix that would be to shut the firm as it is down and then re-launch under a different name and hope none of the general public noticed. But that wouldn’t get them away from any legal trouble that has hounded them, since the government would be paying attention. On another note, I especially love this part: On Saturday, Joe Nocera, The Times columnist who originally wrote about the firm’s Halloween party, published another column about the controversy. In it, he quoted an e-mail that Mr. Baum had sent him last week.
“Mr. Nocera — You have destroyed everything and everyone related to Steven J. Baum PC,” said the letter. “It took 40 years to build this firm and three weeks to tear down.” Because, you know, it had nothing to do with the people of Steven J. Baum PC being total uncaring douchebag jackasses. Face it, Baum, it is your own employees and your acceptance of their horrendous behavior that did you in.

Mmmmmm...sweet and delicious irony, let me put that between two pieces of bread, get some dijon mustard on that baby, and...*NOM* Elitist! Trying to be better than the American people! /2009 On a more serious note, I have no sympathy for law firms being shut down. The people that work for them are mostly bullies that don't give a crap about anything but the money

The people that work for them are mostly bullies that don't give a crap about anything but the money My dad runs the IT department for a large law firm. Of course, my dad is kind of a dick, so... Still, it would have sucked if he'd lost his job while my bro and I were still kids. Dicks have families too.
