You do realize the US was part of that empire too, right? Do you honestly believe that because our founders decided to have a bloody revolution that somehow makes the US better than Canada? They beat you in two wars. TWO. AND you never managed to invade and conquer them. And they had to commit a war crime to do it. You don't burn people's capitals to the ground. The very fact that they celebrate this proves how degenerate they are.

The very fact that they celebrate this proves how degenerate they are. That's not really a good use of rhetoric. It then opens the door for people to point out when the US has broke "rules of war".

Actually it was two. They burned both the Capital Building and the White House.

Actually it was two. They burned both the Capital Building and the White House. And only did it in response to the Americans burning and looting the city of York (now Toronto). P.S. You 'degenerate' Americans celebrate the war every time you play the "Star Spangled Banner."

Berlin* cough* Tokyo *cough cough* I'd also add the fire bombings of Hamburg and Dresden to that list. Although the British had a role in those too.

Also, Hiroshima. And I think Baghdad during the First Gulf War. Destroying cities of the enemy country during a war seems par for the course. Horrible and not at all okay, but no country that's ever fought a war is guilt-free.

I always find it amusing that the Star Spangled Banner is to the tune of a British drinking song. Don't forget Yankee Doodle. It's funny because it's British song essentially calling the Americans "poofs" and it completely went over the heads of every American as they began to sing it patriotically. It's almost like those Japanese symbols that you're told mean things like "Justice" and "Honor" and actually mean things like "I'm gay" or "I suck cock". Only even more inexcusable because it's the same language XD Just different dialect.

That's horrible logic there. Because of that non sequitur, you conceded the debate. On the other hand, I'm wearing a Space Invaders t-shirt today. Once again, we win.
